Pretty good until his total BS nonsensical answer regarding assault weapon legislation he signed into law in Mass. How in the world he can spin that into an “expansion of gun rights in all other ways so its ok” is beyond me.

I think he is full of it and insincere. Only in a world where the other choice is marxist dictator in training doing everything he can to take the country down would I vote for him.

For me, the choice is simple:
Be an American, or be a Communist. You can’t be both.

You think he is insincere. That is your choice.

I have already stated mine.

This, from the interview, is what you are talking about:

"The bill you mention was supported by your state NRA affiliate because it expanded the rights of Massachusetts gun owners. The NRA said at the time that it included "the greatest set of firearm law reforms since the passage of the Commonwealth's worst-in-the-nation gun laws … a breath of fresh air for law-abiding gun owners." While not perfect legislation, I agreed with that description of the bill, and that's why I signed it into law."

I have a good friend who used to live in New Hampshire, not far from MA. He is VERY hard-core on the 2nd Amendment, and has been extensively involved in various legislative battles related to the 2A in both NJ and NH. I asked him if he knew much about Romney, and he indicated that he had some long discussions with several similar-minded people from MA over a period of years. They unanimously stated without equivocation that what Romney said above (about following the advice of the MA NRA) is true - he's not much interested in the issue and simply signed what he was told to sign by people he thought represented all gun owners in MA. The trouble is, according to these harder-line people in MA, that the MA NRA at the time used very poor negotiating tactics. They wanted to guarantee that those holders of firearms owners ID cards (I forget the actual MA designation) wouldn't be charged with a crime for owning a firearm without a license if there was an inadvertant expiration - and they thought that with an overwhelmingly Dem legislature that they'd have to trade away something to get that provision...so the Fuds traded away semi-autos without even asking (the dumschits).

I'm not anything approaching a Romney-bot, but I believe my friend and he is certain that his multiple sources were/are credible. I think also that Romney has been beaten up quite a bit on this issue, and has perhaps learned a few things from the experience. At least he's saying the right things, that's a start (and a record that can be used to beat him over the head in 2016 if he lied).

I think he is full of it and insincere. Only in a world where the other choice is marxist dictator in training doing everything he can to take the country down would I vote for him.

Given who the Dems nominated, then I guess that you're voting for him despite your reservations. Welcome to the club.

...and that just so happens to be the world that we live in.

It is so sad but so true thanks to millions of addle-brained, TV watching fools like my aunt and uncle. They have stated that their vote for Hussein was the biggest mistake they ever made in their lives. They are in their seventies. A little late now huh Auntie?

I sure hope that people are paying attention this time around.
