Heinrich, Obama in good shape

We conducted a New Mexico poll for a coalition of environmental groups over the weekend. We found Martin Heinrich with his largest lead of the year in the state. Additionally Barack Obama leads by double digits and is in good position to again win its 5 electoral votes.

Here are the specific findings:

-Martin Heinrich leads Heather Wilson 50-41. His lead was only 5 points on each of PPP’s previous 2 polls of the race this year.

-Wilson has extremely high negatives, with only 38% of voters viewing her favorably to 50% who have a negative opinion of her. Meanwhile Heinrich is proving to be a pretty popular candidate with 45% of voters rating him positively to 35% with a negative opinion.

-Ads drawing attention to Wilson’s environmental record appear to be contributing to her drop in the polls. By a 50/35 margin New Mexico voters say they trust Heinrich more than Wilson to ‘protect our children’s drinking water.’ This has been a focus of the environmental coalition’s work in New Mexico.

-New Mexico is also looking good for President Obama. He leads Romney 53-42 in the state, a six point increase from when we polled the state in July and found him ahead by only 5 points.

This polling result is what happens when media and democoms form the socialist coalition. The conclusion offered by the author Jensen uses a political device.

What the Wilson campaign must do is identify the messengers of propaganda. If I were running that campaign I’d call it that and tie the messengers to the candidate and suggest they (not the “children”) will benefit from supporting that candidate.

The tweets from ppp polling are quite revealing at times. They are giddy with their manipulated numbers making O look good.

Wilson (or a PAC) needs to expose Heinrich for the truly extreme radical he really is. I believe I read that the Pubs pulled their advertising for Wilson because of other polling numbers, so she really has nothing to lose by going negative on him with what funds she has.

I’m glad he posted it. It’s really something to see. It’s absolutely vertigo-inducing, to see how far they have to oversample Democrats to eak out the slightest little Democrat lead.

I hate to break the bad news, but they pretty much nailed it on party breakdown.
The party breakdown in NM as of 12 October 2010 is 32% registered Republicans, compared to 49% registered Democrats.

Good information. Didn’t know it was so bad in New-Want-To-Be-Mexico.

PPP is a push poll for progressives. I’m sure it’s off by many points.

It is what it is. Heather Wilson is NOT energizing and the folks who will be staying home because of her will, of course, NOT be there to vote for R/R. Stick a fork in New Mexico.

It is so disheartening. By default, this cycle should have been a Republican landslide but as it is all unfolding we might barely squeak through with the White House and the Senate. The establishment/status quo/cautious/sensible/milquetoaste LAME ASS brand of Republicanism is loser writ large. Hopefully there will be enough successes nationwide to drag the party across the finish line ahead of the communists but I don't see it happening in New Mexico.

All of that is true Laz and the final outcome will almost certainly be closer, But Heather Wilson is not likely to bring it home.

She is running on SOCIAL SECURITY, that she is going to leave it be, big sob story about her dad being killed and she got social security when she was a kid, gonna make sure nobody takes it away. BIG DEAL I got that same social security for the same reason and the only threat I see to that continuing is leaving it as is, to ultimately go broke. True fact and she is exactly on the wrong side of it, BUT that issue isn't even a blip on the radar this cycle. The issue is the COMPLETE FAILURE of Obama and Democrat/Communist policies and Republicans will be ON THAT MESSAGE or they will lose, plain and simple.
