The American Media Beclowned Themselves Yesterday
Red State ^ | September 13, 2012 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 09/13/2012 6:45:56 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Yesterday, as the American consulate in Libya was smoking and the rioters were returning in Egypt, the President of the United States flew off to Las Vegas for a fundraiser while his spokesman was telling the American press corps that yesterday wasn’t really a normal political day. Had it been George W. Bush, the media would, right now, be marching on the White House with pitch forks and torches. Remember, on 9/11, as events were unfolding in Washington, the American media was crying for President Bush to return to Washington. They wanted Daddy at home in the White House where he could tuck them in bed, damn the security issues of getting him there.

I get that Chuck Todd is a former Democrat hill staffer. I get that the Politico is riddled with Democrats, some former activists and a former staffer for Debbie Wasserman Schultz. I get that Michael Scherer from Time magazine is a left wing reporter for Mother Jones and Salon.com turned respectable, “objective” journalist. I get that Ben Smith, leading up Buzz Feed, is a leftwing journalist paraded about as if he is some sort of objective reporter at a trendy site full of cat photos. What I really get is that the American media runs with a herd mentality, leans left, and yesterday collectively fell over their group think as they leaned so far left to focus on Mitt Romney and not President Obama. Yesterday, the American media beclowned itself in ways I didn’t really even think was possible, even knowing how in the tank for Barack Obama they are.

Yesterday, we learned that there were no Marines protecting our Ambassador to Libya despite State Department warnings about violence and kidnappings in the Benghazi. We already knew Al Qaeda was coming on strong there. But we relied on locals for support and now we know the locals betrayed us as they have in the past in Afghanistan and Iraq too.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Night before last, the President condemned Mitt Romney in harsher tones than he condemned the rioters. It took him until sun up yesterday to condemn them.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Yesterday, the media spent much time condemning the Coptic Christians for their movie, but we now know the movie had been out for months and we also know the riots were orchestrated in advance. We also know the attack on the American consulate in Libya used the riots as cover for the attack.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Yesterday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a man who swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America, called an American civilian to ask him to stop exercising his first amendment rights.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

We also now know that the President, close to 60% of the time, has opted for printed intelligence briefings, which this White House thinks are as useful as an intelligence officer in the room who the President can probe, prod, challenge, and question.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

And in focusing on Mitt Romney, finally, of all the places, Slate and Dave Weigel finally point out that Mitt Romney’s gaffe was no gaffe, it was a consistent view of foreign policy foreign to the ears of the political press. He, I, and many others really do think Barack Obama is an apologist. We really do think his speech to Cairo after his entrance to the White House was part of a world apology tour. And we sure as hell think his actions in the past year to foster the Arab Spring were the actions of a naive fool.

But then the media has been playing the naive fool for him.

I saw that Fox & Friends segment. After the break Juan Williams was questioned by Steve Doosey.

Then Steve asked Juan Williams if he, Juan, had ever been involved in this kind of coordinated “gotcha” question situation. Juan said “Sure. We coordinate before press conferences, debates, and everything. - - - - What we try to do is to get the politicians to answer off-message. - - - .”

To clever FReepers: Find that clip and post it here!

In fact, working with Hillary's State Department, Obama has helped to install the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt the U.S. Government.

Orchestrate civil unrest and riots, then carry out a terrorist attack.

Sound familiar?

It’s the Weather Underground play book.

“Did anyone see FOX news this AM where the media was caught on microphone planning to ambush Romney at an interview. They are such garbage and should be brought out into the light for the obama butt kissers they really are!”

Yes, this made it on Rush y’day.
Outrageous, but its good to see this on tape with proof for all to see.

Our national “media” are the most appalling collection of bootlickers, sycophants, water carriers and rumpswabs ever assembled, and yet, for their interminable willingness to sell their souls in exchange for access to power, they will be among the very first to turn on the former objects of their affection when the Powers That Be become the Powers That Were.

WISCONSIN: Democrats Unveil the Weapon of the Future" ..........................This is an extraordinary series of events, of a type that we haven't witnessed before. Even more singular is the legacy media's insistence on covering the story (with the exception of the siege of Madison, which got the standard "unions unbound" treatment) as if it were commonplace to the point of boredom. It is no such thing; it is an ideological campaign of a magnitude and breadth that we have not seen in quite some time, if ever.

What all this amounts to is the baptism of fire of what I have taken to calling the "liberal superstructure." This superstructure is the vast constellation of advocacy groups, think tanks, single-issue outfits, unions, and various other flotsam constructed by the left over the past half-century or so. There are literally thousands of these groups, ranging from the ACLU and the Sierra Club with their hundreds of thousands of members to the local "Friends of the People's Venezuela" outfit which amounts to a retired feminism professor and her six cats. These organizations are ubiquitous, universal, and networked to a fare-thee- well. They are also liberalism's last great hope of controlling politics in the United States.

It's scarcely arguable that, in the political sense, liberalism is on the ropes. Obama spent their last nickel. They have lost the House and will lose the Senate, with little chance of regaining them in the near future. The same is true of the White House once the messiah gets the bum's rush come 2012. Liberalism is on the skids, its programs uniform failures, its ideology barren, its slogans worn out, its long hold on the independents being relentlessly pared down by the Tea Parties.

So what is a political movement to do, particularly one as fanatic and apocalyptic as this one? Well, if you have an alternate system made up of outside organizations not subject to governmental oversight, a system populated with self-selected fanatics and true believers, a system poised and ready to march, you can do what was done in Wisconsin. You can turn the superstructure loose to threaten the public peace, smash things up, abuse the electoral process, create a media spectacle, and pressure the state to do things your way. You can use nonpolitical organizations (in the electoral sense) to get a political result."..............

...and Barack Kardashian is doing Letterman and Vegas?

Nail/Head. An act of war was perpetrated against the U.S. by terrorists this week and yet this pile-of-pukeOTUS is off playing with his fellow celebritards.

CNN won't stop about this -- last night Wolf Blitzer was arguing with every guest who didn't toe the MSM-Obama line.

I haven't seen the MSM this hysterical in years.

We are not done with this battle. The MSM is like a dog with a bone, and they know the Romney statement was a direct hit on Obama.

I encourage EVERONE to call your reps and senators (both Ds and Rs) to stand up for Romney - and truth. The Capitol Hill switchboard is 202-224-3121.

We have a government that calls the Fort Hood massacre by an Islamic fanatic, Major Hassan, “workplace violence”.

From that point on the downhill skids, there’s not much real estate left.

Now in this case, we have the Left’s foreign policy (along with such know-it-alls as John McCain) ridding the M.E. of its brutal strongmen in return for the accendancy of radical Islam, which has led to America being under attack by these people we “helped”, and the media jackboot loons are focused on taking down Mitt Romney instead of illuminating what has happened via the Left.

They are also focused on what did WE do to CAUSE these attacks on our sovereign territory and diplomatic personnel.

IOW, they mirror the jackboot loons in government power right now.

Quite the CABAL, eh?

Schieffer, Crowley, Lehrer to moderate presidential debates
These “so call journelists” need to know we are not going to stand for lynching tactics for Rhomney and soft ball questions for the Zero. It’s war on the leftist media, I say! Hold their feet to the fire and expose them in any way possible.

Quite the CABAL, eh?

No kidding! But to say it makes one "guilty" of Islamophobia.

Islamophobia as free speech -- a notion that escapes many Muslims "............The U.S. diplomatic venues were "caught in the crossfire of two ignorant armies: rabid Islamophobes determined to attack the prophet of Islam on the one hand, and the most extreme Islamists on the other, determined to avenge him,"[quote, Michael Collins Dunn, editor of the Middle East Journal]................"

This is incompetence on a grand scale. Even the most biased ideologue wouldn’t try to cover this up and obfuscate it like the press has done. You have to pay people to behave as stupidly as the press has done. The idiots in the press are nothing more than paid shills for the Democrats. They have all the honor and courage and ethics of the oily shill in front of the circus sideshow barking, “Come and see her! Little Sheba can shimmy like a snake!”

They are doing a repeat of 2000 and what was supposed to happen in 2008.

In 2000 you had the bombing of the Cole, the left then claimed Bush stole the election and attempted to gin up civil unrest with blacks. Then there was the 9/11 terrorist attack and the claim was made “Bush knew”.

Weather Underground playbook again.

In 2008, the left has a black candidate that's not eligible to be president. Had he been declared ineligible before the election there would have been race riots in every city in the US, and low and behold there was a terrorist attack planned for NYC subway.

Weather Underground playbook again.

Remember Air Force 1 flying over NYC and everyone said it was BO mocking 9/11?

BO didn't do that, it was team Bush that did that.

Team Bush let the entire world know there was a terrorist attack planned for NYC. BO finally stopped the attack IIRC in August or September, but he only stopped it after the Britts warned him.

Guess what BO did before he finally stopped the attack.

He attempted to gin up civil unrest with the Gates dustup and “RACIAL PROFILING” by police.

Weather Underground play book again.

Same thing just happened with Trayvon Martin and the underwear bomber on the airline.

Weather Underground play book again.

It's the same for every terrorist attack.

Maybe people will begin to understand what UBL meant in his letter to Mullah Omar “the news is 90% of the preparation for the battle”.

All of the leftist groups are orchestrating the news for the terrorist attacks.

Time to round this trash up.

Oh, I get it: The Obama admin screws up royally, and by its ineptitude gets an ambassador murdered by a mob, and it’s all Mitt Romney’s fault. How dare Romney criticize his opponent for the presidency during the final seven weeks leading up to the election. Doesn’t Romney know he’s forbidden to criticize Obama about anything? Criticize the bungling Obama about foreign policy? How dare he! (snicker)
