‘Today’ chose Jenner over 9/11

The “Today” show apparently felt that Kris Jenner’s breasts were more important than a moment of silence for the Sept. 11 victims.

“Today” chose not to cut away yesterday at 8:46 a.m. to mark the beginning of the attacks, choosing instead to continue with Savannah Guthrie’s interview with “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” mom Jenner (pictured) talking about her breast implants and the new season of her E! show.

In New York, Ch. 4, which airs “Today,” did cut away to mark the moment the first plane hit the towers in 2001.

Both “Good Morning America” and “CBS This Morning” marked the moment of silence at 8:46 a.m.

A “Today” spokeswoman said the show had an interview with a World Trade Center survivor earlier in the show — and that NBC did insert coverage of the moment into the West Coast feed of “Today.”

I don’t like forced national moments of silence. I’ll be silent when I feel like it, or when local ceremony or other conditions dictate. However much I care about boobs in general I would rather wretch than hear about hers. But I don’t care in particular about NBC covering them instead of silence. It’s just one more thing I didn’t watch on NBC.
