Good doggie!

Who is a good doggie? You are a good doggie!

Daddy always had dogs. Usually ones he took pity on and sometimes ones we got for him. One of the last ones was a small golden shepherd. When Daddy passed away that dog just laid down and died. I don’t think the poor fellow ever moved again.

This picture breaks my heart every time I see it. I’m a 56 year-old guy who doesn’t cry easy at all but this one just kills me....

The empathy some dogs can show is amazing. Rufus the Poodle can understand when something is not right, and you can see it in his eyes. 3 1/2 years old, yet he has understanding more than many adult humans...

He also has the capacity to smile and show happiness as you can see above

And the name Rufus is a good name for him, meaning red. My dogs name is Rufus but he’s not red. Named him because of the bark, ruf ruf. He’s quite the dog, very intense and inquisitive. He wants to know and be involved in everything I do. He came to my friends house on the coldest night of many years. I think that someone had let him go because he probably was too much for them to handle, as no owner claimed him. He has been a very wonderful, lively dog that keeps me, my friends, my other dog Sophie and my kitties all on our toes.

I echo all the sentiments expressed here. Dogs are an indispensible part of my life. They make nme feel closer to God. I love sharing my life with another species with which I have such a deep bond. Truly humbling and amazing.

The real Hachiko and his master lived in Japan. Here is Hachiko's statue, outside the train station:

This man Miguel Guzman was very blessed and fortunate to have such a fine dog. I hope Miguel Guzman's family take very good care of Capitan, because Capitan is paying a greater and more honorable tribute to Guzman than most people will ever receive. Mr. Miguel Guzman was a lucky man to have such a friend, second only to my own fuzzy good buddy.
