How about protesting at local mosques
Good idea. Pray always, but be aware the next round of violence may be here.
Thanks for that. I am Orthodox myself so these events in Egypt hit home pretty hard for me.
That is also today's feast in the traditional Catholic calendar (I don't know about the newer calendar).
For any Catholics in the NYC area, there will be a Solemn High Mass at 6:00 p.m. at The Church of the Holy Innocents (West 37th St. near Broadway).
This is one of the truly catholic (universal) Feasts, and being a fixed date as opposed to being tied to the Paschal cycle it is pretty much universally celebrated today.
The date also appears as a “Lesser Festival” (or “Minor Festival”) on the various Lutheran calendars and as a “Holy Day” on the Episcopal/Anglican calendar, although rare is the congregation which holds a liturgy today unless the 14th coincides with a day of the week when there is a regular liturgy...and that is a tragic omission.
Maybe you could set up a time and see how many can make it. It needs to be big enough to get attention. Also is a permit needed?
The press is ignoring all the violence against the Coptic Christians. Some of the few articles on the violence should be taken with you so you can show the ignorant press what this is about.
