Larry Kudlow, host of “The Kudlow Report” on CNBC, warned of a recession if current tax rates for all income brackets expire and the planned automatic spending cuts take effect.

He also told The Daily Caller that President Barack Obama would rather “punish” the wealthy than deal with America’s current economic challenges.

“I really think the fiscal cliff, which is really a tax cliff — it’s a tax-hike cliff — depends on the election...

If I hear one more time how cuts in government spending will cause a recession, I think I will puke. The economy is not driven by government spending. Government spending HURTS the economy. Government spending is made for POLITICAL reasons, not ECONOMIC ones. Government spending is never efficient, always has strings attached, and almost certainly involves union activity. Think the 'bridge to nowhere'. The government builds new bridges not where they are most needed, but where the most powerful politicos reside. And then factor in Davis-Bacon. Davis-Bacon, for those who might not know, is the provision that any construction project funded by government money must pay labor prevailing (read union) wages. As a result, taxpayers get one mile of road built for the money that could have built two miles. I mean it goes on and on.Government spending kills economic growth, it does not support it.

We have a tangent relative a big muck-e-muck in banking and was @ Fannie and Freddie for a while and can't seem to get off the Dem train and will probably pull the lever for "O" and is stuck on this subject, i.e. how many jobs will be lost if they downsize Fedzilla. Aggh! what they don't get is DC is a parasitic drag on all of us either fiscally or legislatively via the hidden tax of regulation which it effectively is!

Keep an eye on this one FHayek...

The Ford board of Directors I think voted the other day to promote Mark Fields to CFO as a step towards becoming the CEO to replace Alan Mulally.....

We are at a tipping point, will Washingtonand America become GM (Obama) or get downsized and balanced like Ford ( Romney).

Now back to Ford, will Mulally move on before or after 1/20/2013?

Either way, will he be available to be part of Romney's Team ( ergo he will only "hire" the best i.e Paul Ryan) as the lead guy to downsize and help balance "Fedzilla"?

After the Job he did @ Ford, I can't think of a better guy to tackle it...

There's short run and there's long run. I think of it like giving amphetamines to an addicted pilot or truck driver. Instead of going to sleep and eventually being cured, you can keep him up and performing a little longer. It hurts to come off of the drug, and so we put it off.

Otherwise, I agree with the rest of your post completely.

This needs to be stated repeatedly and loudly.
0bama revealed this truth about himself when questioned about th historical increase in revenue when tax rates are dropped.

He said it wasn’t about revenue, but about fairness.

Of course, that means simply the worst incarnation of the sin of covetousness - not really wanting to have what someone else has, but viscerally wanting them NOT TO HAVE IT.

Pure evil.
