Islamic Rioting Reaches Jerusalem Israel police dispersing rioters who seem to be headed

Riots by Muslims that began on September 11, 2012, have reached Jerusalem, where demonstrations were held after Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa mosque in the Old City.

The protests began peacefully with several hundred people demonstrating on the plaza that holds both the Al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock mosques, chanting, "With our blood and our soul, we will sacrifice for you our Prophet."

But clashes broke out between a part of the crowd and Israeli police as the demonstration moved out of the Old City, with security forces firing tear gas and stun grenades that injured at least five people, an AFP correspondent said. Several policemen were reportedly hurt.

"Israel police are dispersing rioters at Damascus Gate, rocks and stones are being thrown at them," police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP.

An AFP correspondent at the scene said demonstrators appeared to be trying to head to U.S. diplomatic premises in east Jerusalem, with Israeli police, some on horseback, seeking to prevent the protest from moving.

In Gaza, thousands of people rallied at demonstrations in Gaza City and the southern town of Rafah, a day after the ruling Hamas party urged citizens to turn out for protests after Friday prayers.

Protesters waved the flags of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements, and set fire to American flags, chanting "Death, death to America, death, death to Israel."

The attacks did not happen because of this film. I think the organizers used the excuse about the film to recruit people into their protests.

Here’s something to ponder. Did anybody find it strange that the democrats (Obama) removed support for Israel off its platform at the conventions? They get a lot of the Jewish votes normally. Why did they do that?

And supposedly there would be a lot of Muslims at the convention. I even heard that one would actually say a prayer.

I think Obama had made a deal with the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama would remove the pro-Israel platform from the democrat convention and Libya and Egypt would remain (or at least appear to remain) allies with the US and not with Iran. You know, to avoid embarrassment for Obama during the election season.

Well, during the convention Obama was pressured to reverse that and return the support of Israel on the DNC platform. Reluctantly he allowed them to do that.

If he made a deal with the Muslim Brotherhood, they would obviously be very angry over this reversal and betrayal.

Voila!

I mean look, Obama (who is anti-Israel himself anyways) has been giving Netanyahu an extra cold shoulder since the conventions. Almost as if he fears being seen with the man.

I think Muslim Brotherhood is getting revenge for Obama’s Betrayal and again recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capitol.

So, now Israelis are going to suffer while obama meets with the muslim brotherhood and won’t give the Israeli leaders the time of day. I would love to have obama plopped down in the middle of the violence without guards and have him meet the same fate as the Americans he is letting be slaughtered.

you’d think if that were true there would be no incentive now for the Muslim Brotherhood to keep quiet, and they’d throw Obama under the bus to cause a civil war in the US, as a deal like this would be grounds for treason and he would be taken out of office immediately if not by force from our own military as he would be the enemy within in so many words.

I agree with your statements above, except I think this was planned before the Democratic convention and Obama heard that it was likely to happen. When he was forced to put Jerusalem back in, the Muslim brotherhood decided to go after Obama too.

The movie was to be the excuse before the Democratic convention, but now Obama is included in their hatred towards America. I don't think things are going Obama’s way.
