USC is a great school. Best wishes for your daughter there.

Just off campus downtown there is the “Islamic Center of Columbia”, not that large a building but with an outdoor assembly area & parking. The real Jumah action takes place at three mosques with Al-Rashid type names but they’re miles away in the next county where the local CAIR office is. As for groups like the Muslim Students Association, I don’t know for sure.

The main campus is safe. Bad stuff can happen in nearby Five Points, it’s full of bars. Best there for girls to travel in groups & keep their wits about them.

There was a campus wide siren and text messages sent to all professors, staff, and students (including my daughter). UT has this emergency thing done pat.
