There is a considerable Arab/Muslim population because of the fact this school teaches Petroleum Engineering, etc.

Also, a nice place for rich Arabs to go to school...

I was working with a bunch of UT engineering graduates in Saudi when one of the shuttles went down in 1986.

They were all hi-fiving each other in front of the Americans.

Then again, they may have also been hi-fiving each other on the UT campus as other students watched, disinterestedly.
