Looks like 2 yard line.
Me too. I suspect my answer on gay/lesbian marriage kept me from scoring. My feeling is that marriage is defined in the Bible, not by government. According to the Bible, gays and lesbians are an abomination before God, so I’m guessing marriage is not even an option for them there.
The government has no business defining marriage of any sort, not their job. They stuck their nose in by issuing marriage licenses which were nothing more than another tax on citizens for the privilege of recording marriages for posterity and historical purposes. In typical government fashion, they expanded that to mean they can dictate what marriage is and whom may be married.
So, the question asks legal marriage. Since I see no right of the government to define legal marriage, then my answer is no. And since biblical marriage is off the table, then I guess the gays/lesbians are out of luck.
Heck, let them get married. I don’t care. Then they can become divorce statistics like heterosexual couples. Lawyers will love them, the new cash cows of the divorce courts.
