19.36 (14.36) The ceremony has begun in Maryland now. An emotional-looking Hillary Clinton is paying tribute to the four “patriots and heroes” whose bodies are being returned today.
18.47 (13.47) President Obama is at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland where the remains of the four Americans killed in Libya are due to be repatriated. He’s being joined by some of the most senior members of his cabinet: Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta. Obama will meet with the families of the dead before speaking briefly.
18.33 (13.33) Tunisia’s official news agency is reporting that two people were killed and 29 injured in clashes at the US Embassy in Tunis today.
18.28 (13.28) President Obama has formally notified Congress by letter that he is deploying American forces into Libya and Yemen, as required by the US Constitution.
