President Barack Obama has bowed to the Muslim Brotherhood’s demand that the federal government suppress a satirical video of Islam’s prophet, Muhammad.
Tommy Vietor, a spokesman for the National Security Council, told the Washington Post that the White House has “reached out to YouTube to call the video to their attention and ask them to review whether it violates their terms of use.”
The request complies with the Sept. 13 demand and threat by the brotherhood, which now governs the Arab’s world’s largest country, Egypt.
“Hurting the feelings of one and a half billion Muslims cannot be tolerated, and… we demand that all those involved in such crimes be urgently brought to trial,” according to an English-language statement on the brotherhood’s website.
The brotherhood’s demand included a threat of additional violence during Obama’s re-election campaign.
“The people’s anger and fury for their Faith is invariably predictable, often unstoppable,” said the website. [...]

Obama’s re-election campaign is being held hostage by Morsi, said Michael Rubin, an expert on Islamist parties at the American Enterprise Institute.
In response, Obama should repeatedly declare the First Amendment bars U.S. government action against Islam’s critics, and should also threaten to cut off much-needed financial aid to Egypt, Rubin said.

Has anyone actually seen this video? Is there anything in it that is untrue? I'm wondering about this because I know that much about Mohammad which is true would be offensive to any rational human being .... Muslim or otherwise .... like the fact that he was an epileptic murderous pedophile who believed camel urine is good to drink and the sun hides in a swamp at night.
Carney may or may not be aware that excluding offensive speech has long been a position of Leftish legal scholars. The idea is simple, any speech that is intended to offend, taunt or provoke any other group may be limited under as fighting words or as “yelling fire in a crowded theatre”. It is often referred to as “offensive speech” and “hate speech” and is commonly banned in Canada and Europe.
Of course one of the most obvious weaknesses of banning offensive speech is that the government in power has great influence over what is considered offensive. Bye, bye Rush.

Okay..say he’s defending the peaceful Muslim though this is getting way out of hand by many people on both sides of the government.
There are two kinds of peace. One is the honorable and valuable prevention of initiation of force and aggression which is resistance and self-defense. The other is the lack of resistance to force and aggression which is either obedience or appeasement and which means submission and which is the peace of cowards and slaves.
Great, because we all know that giving in to temper tantrums always prevents more tantrums.
Should Obama step aside and save America from the Jihad against him....should the Mullahs demanding this Jihad be quietly removed?
