This is, to put it bluntly, horrifying. At the very least it is incoherent.
On one hand, the White House press secretary says we know the attacks are completely about a film, and not about the U.S. . . . but then we don’t have any information it wasn’t about a film.
Have we done some investigation? What about reports that people storming our embassies hadn’t seen or hear about the film? And does the administration not understand that radical jihadists use such incidents to spur Muslims to violence? I don’t know how shouts of “We are all Osama!” and the raising of an al-Qaeda flag on 9-11 could be any clearer.
Moreover, if Carney’s statement is really the view of the U.S. administration — namely, that murderous mobs are simply the result of insulting provocation — then why weren’t the initial statement from the Cairo embassy and its reiteration perfectly acceptable? After all the embassy said, in effect, we really, really think that film is awful...

Reuters) - A bomb exploded outside the U.S. diplomatic mission in the Libyan city of Benghazi overnight, an attack that could be retaliation for the killing, in a U.S. drone strike, of al Qaeda’s Libyan second-in-command.

Islam, as we all know, doesn’t have free speech but they do have a mandate to persecute blasphemers. In other words - your free speech allows you to insult, okay, I trump you because my faith believes I can kill you for it.
This is where the UN Resolution 16/18 comes to the aid of the Muslim Brotherhood. They say shut down your free speech and we won’t riot, burn, loot, or murder you. We’ll permit you to live under those circumstances only. Control speech and control the world which is, of course, the end goal of the MB.
Blarney Carney is simply spewing what he was told. He can’t think about it, because it’s not in his brain, it just goes from the paper to his eyes to his mouth.

Jihadi groups in Egypt, including Islamic Jihad, the Sunni Group, and Al Gamaa Al Islamiyya have issued a statement threatening to burn the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to the ground.
According to El Fagr, they are calling for the immediate release of the Islamic jihadis who are imprisonment and in detention centers in the U.S. including Guantanamo Bay: “The group, which consists of many members from al-Qaeda, called [especially] for the quick release of the jihadi [mujahid] sheikh, Omar Abdul Rahman [the “Blind Sheikh”], whom they described as a scholar and jihadi who sacrificed his life for the Egyptian Umma, who was ignored by the Mubarak regime, and [President] Morsi is refusing to intervene on his behalf and release him, despite promising that he would. The Islamic Group has threatened to burn the U.S. Embassy in Cairo with those in it, and taking hostage those who remain [alive], unless the Blind Sheikh is immediately released.”

Probably the penultimate line of Ms. Rubin’s column should have read: “No wonder our foes think so little of us and our ALLIES are nervous.”
Don't rush to judgment, Obie. You're a relatively young man, and 30 or 40 years of bruising, stinging, biting, embarrassing criticism, and ostracization is nothing to sneeze at.
