No pay cuts, no layoffs. Just a casual perusal of resale prices for residential real estate in the DC bubble tells the tale. This is also true of most state capitol cities as well. Government workers have been insulated from the effects of this undeclared depression.

Air Force announces 9,000 civilian job cuts

Air Force cutting 13,500 civilian jobs

Army to cut 8,741 civilian employees

And that was just in the last year. Thousands of engineers, logisticians, nurses, and other DoD civilians have lost their jobs. The only thing Obama has really cut has been Defense - big time.

It is about to get even much, much worse.

Forecast: 89,000 civilian job cuts at DoD under sequestration

I had my facts straight about the Federal pay freeze also, didn't I? Funny that you glossed over that and moved on to more sophistry.

I have concluded you don't deal in facts, and you don't educate yourself on them. You simply believe what you want to believe because that's what you desire. It is called "delusional."

Why so defensive? Has your ox been gored? You know full well what I was referring to in the first reply. They were government workers. You attempt to refute my second reply with “civilian” employees. Nongovernment workers.

Quite the master of twisting and evasion yourself, you are. Does your union know you post on Free Republic?

Union? Ha. Try 180 degrees out of phase from that direction. You know nothing about me.

You attempt to refute my second reply with “civilian” employees. Nongovernment workers.

I feel like I am talking to a 3 year old.

I have news for you. Federal Civilians that work for the Dept of Defense are "government workers."

All I asked of you was to not make sweeping, generalization statements that put FBI agents or Navy Engineers in the same category as the teachers union strikers in Chicago. We have enough disinformation from MSNBCCBSCNNABC as it is.

Apparently, that was too hard for you. In terms of goring someones ox, I could assume about you as well - (i.e. entitlement taker, greedy Social Security taker, etc). But then, I would stoop to your level.

I have news for you pal - the world is exploding in rage and violence - and we are on the edge of another war. Most people don't even have a clue how close we really are to that brink. Do you want to see the military might of this nation eviscerated even further so that we can put a few more million people on Social Security Disability, perpetual "unemployment", and Food Stamps? There seems to be an endless pile of money for that, doesn't there? In fact, the "deal" that the Republicans and Demoncrats gave us to raise our debt ceiling exempted every single giveaway entitlement program.

I had you nailed in my previous post - you don't know the facts, and don't care.

You have your simplistic, petulant notions, and that's your gospel.

You’re awfully defensive, SkyPilot.

Alright, you win. The Federal Government has been the very model of probity and fiscal responsibility. There are no call-in jobs, no union grievancemeisters, the pay is piddling and benefits? What benefits? Why, you idiots out there don’t know what it’s like living in fear of the next zero percent raise, it’s just terrible I tell you. And have you seen the price of arugula lately? /s

Whistling past the graveyard is what you’re doing.
