I knew Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was a friend of mine. And Mitt Romney is reminding me an awful lot of Ronald Reagan.
The comments for which Romney is being so relentlessly and viciously scorned by Barack Obama and his merry band of media puppets sounds to me exactly like comments Ronald Reagan would have made.
It is indeed "disgraceful" for the US government to respond to the threat of an attack against an American embassy by issuing a statement condemning "the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims" and denouncing hurting their feelings as an "abuse" of free speech - and then as the embassy was being overrun and our flag burned issuing another statement saying they stand by that.
"It's disgraceful that the Obama Administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks."
Mitt Romney was simply but forcefully expressing, as Ronald Reagan so often did, what most Americans think and how they feel. And you can bet the Obama campaign realized this and found it frightening.
They said that they were "shocked" that Romney "would choose to launch a political attack" -- the usual and expected sort of political statement gibberish -- but isn't it revealing what they did? The Obama White House asked its media allies to report that the statement that Romney took such exception to "doesn't reflect the views of the U.S. government."
What? Isn't a U.S. Embassy an important part of the U.S. government, and all the more so when that embassy happens to be located in a country of great consequence to U.S. national interests? Isn't the U.S. Ambassador who leads that embassy - as anyone who is or ever has been one loves to

And then he turned around and condemned the filmmaker and his film that is being used as a convenient excuse bu the Saracens and the Left.
What I am seeing on FR is so many freepers talking about how no one they know intends to vote for Obama or no signs for Obama are seen in their neighborhood, etc. Well Duh!
I live in Crook County, IL and I am sure that other conservatives living in large Democrat strongholds across the U.S. will tell a different story.
I made these replies to another freeper on a different thread:
Every veteran I speak to (including myself) is firmly in the Romney/Ryan camp. We veterans may not be crazy about Romney but we understand the danger of a second Obama administration.
I dont know if you live in Boston or any of the other Democrat large cities in MA, but here in Democrat Chicago, Cook County, IL most vets vote reliably for Democrats. The Democrats count on that and ensure that happens by making certain IL Gov. Pat Quinn is always seen talking about some positive programs helping IL vets, (whether it is nothing more than vowing to do something for vets. The Democrats have put Democrat Tammy Duckworth, (double amputee Iraq War vet) up against a conservative Joe Walsh, who is losing in the polls.
Myself and many other IL conservatives that are veterans will vote for Romney, but we are outnumbered here in Cook County big time.

As you know the media is carrying the water for Obama as it pertains to veterans. And most veterans either do not want to or do not have time, or do not care to seek alternative media truth about Obama and how he hates the military.
Sadly, current stories like these and dozens of others during this Obama campaign bombardment of propaganda published by the Chicago metro media are mostly what vets know about Obama

Illinois eases professional licensing for military families
By Jason Keyser / Associated Press Posted on June 26, 2012
CHICAGO (AP) Michelle Obama got a boost Tuesday from her home state of Illinois in her campaign to make it easier for military spouses to advance their own careers amid the frequent moves that come with life in a military family.

OK, that I understand. Is your initial sentence at 11 a typo, with the names transposed?
With regard to your post, I have wondered if both bases will be depressed. I think the international fiascoes and domestic depression is going to kill Hussein’s chances.
The new gay and abortion supporting Reagan?
What I said in post#11: More and more military veterans I talk with are not actually saying they will vote for Obama again but they do say that Romney is someone they cannot vote for.
What I am saying here is that as an officer in both VFW and American Legion Veterans Posts I have talked with many vets and more than ever they are saying that they do not like Romney, (for the usual reasons as propagandized by the Obama media)and either they will stay home or they will vote for Obama.
The Obama campaign along with MSM are not only scaring seniors, but specifically veterans that are seniors into believing Romney will take away or lessen their VA and or military benefits.
Example: Press release from Obama:
FACT CHECK: Romney Would Slash Veterans Benefits
Mitt Romney appropriately praised veterans in his speech tonight, but has suggested the privatization of veterans health care, breaking the promise to our men and women in uniform. The Romney-Ryan budget if cuts were made across the board could cut the funding for Veterans Affairs by $11 billion.

Romney is no Reagan and there will never be another one like him.
Please God, no more Romney is like Reagan.
Thanks for the replies. Just struggling to get my head around this whole dismal cycle. I honestly don’t know what I will do until the day of.
Newsmax
It is stories like this that reveal how Obama is scaring active military and veterans that any cuts will be the fault of Romney and how dire it would be with large benefit cuts to come unless the One is re elected to save them all from the evil Republicans. And the sheeple are buying it.
White House Warns of Military ‘Destruction’ in $110 Billion Sequestration Cuts

The White House presented a detailed breakdown Friday of $109 billion in across-the-board spending cuts scheduled for January, setting off a fresh blame game between the Obama administration and Republicans over responsibility for what both say is a preventable budgetary calamity.
The Moslems got their feelings hurt?........wow.......that’s too bad......that explains everything......You would have to rape the American Ambassador for that......clear as day.....probably bruised their ego......yeah......have to kill people for that.....I guess if you root against their soccer team, they’ll nuke you....
George Romney is probably rolling over in his grave at this comparison, too. If someone claims Mitt is a Barry Goldwater clone, George will probably come back as a ghost and haunt that person.
how did the media try to protect Jimmy Carter?
one can still use reagan’s words.
I would rather he copy reagan than copy carter.
Obama IS Carter.
The title made me laugh. Thanks. :)
Damn! What a bastard. You and I never have changed our hair styles.
Didn’t democrats redraw the district boundaries in IL to favor themselves? That might have something to do with Walsh losing. I used to live in that district. Before Walsh there was Melissa Bean. She was voted out for voting for commie care. I got sick of IL Nazis and moved just north of the state line in WI.
Fat chance.
Trying to be positive here. I don’t want to have party monkeys howling and flinging poo.
Go unicorn hunting. You’ll have a better chance at that than the soul of Reagan entering Mitt’s body.
There is also similarity in thinking, speaking or governing. Unless we compare Myth to George McGovern or maybe Walter Mondale.
Whoops! Make that NO similarity in #39.
