Jackson Lee speaks at Scientology national office opening

In the wake of publicity over the movie “The Master” and Tom Cruise’s divorce, the Church of Scientology opened its national office last week in Washington, D.C., drawing support from Houston Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and other officials.

“I want to thank L. Ron Hubbard for recognizing that courage is not rewarded but it is valued. And to be able to have the wonderment of people coming together and ensuring that people come together for peace. That’s what I see in the Church, that you have come together for peace. I welcome and support that,” Jackson Lee is quoted during Thursday’s ceremony.

The Texas Democrat was joined by Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind., Rep. Danny Davis, D-Ill., and FEMA official Liz Gibson, Scientology’s official website says.

The website notes Burton supports the group’s “signal contributions in the protection of children from psychotropic drugging and preservation of the rights of families” and Davis thanked the church for pushing for criminal justice reforms. Gibson praised the group’s disaster relief efforts, the Scientology website says.

Church of Scientology spokeswoman Karin Poux told The Daily Caller that none of the government officials at the grand opening are members of the church.

The Daily Caller delves deeper into the church’s background and clashes with the federal government. The website was founded in 2010 by former Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel, former Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief policy adviser.

The “fleet academy” may be a bunch of loons but judging by their buildings here in Hollywood and the number of these crazies in the biz, they’re everywhere. I wished I thought of this scam about alien 747’s crashing souls into volcanoes and getting rich off these mush-brained clowns.

Thank you for that laugh!

When I was about 18, someone pointed out Hubbard’s book in a bookstore. I thought, “ok, what the heck.” I’m not sure I even made it half way through. I wasn’t much of Christian, but it was painfully obvious that all I had to do was ask God’s forgiveness and that was pretty much the essence of them “clearing,” and a heck of a lot easier and less complicated.

It's a ruse. They're headquartered near my hometown here in Clearwater, FL. They own massive tracts of land on Ft. Harrison, but several investigations have shown that the oversized, gaudy, lumbering buildings are, in fact, empty. They own the land, built multi-story enormous buildings, but they're empty.

One local reporter actually got lost in one of the buildings before security found him and had him arrested for trespassing. The video was like something out of a haunted hotel movie.

I have to agree, If an election were held to elect the Most Stupid Person in the world she would certainly be in the running, BUT we have to remember that those who elected her are even more stupid than she is.

I have said it repeatedly, this is nothing more than a cult with three piece suits. I knew a guy that gave up a thriving business to join the “Sea Org”. He ended up cleaning toilets in Arizona.

I guess Scientology does not mind the Black Racism from Sheila Jackson Lee

Disturbed somewhat that Dan Burton would be at this “opening”....just because a religious cult gets one thing “correct” does not absolve it from the rest of its cult-ness. This is like Sean Hannity when he kept bringing on Kelly Preston to his show because of her “anti-Ritalin” campaign...her and her husband John Travolta were nutty Wackotologists back then

Yes, Lee I understand. She’s a major loon and would speak at the Grand Opening of a Klan center if they offered her money. What is Burton’s problem, though? Just more proof that almost all politicians are weasels and cannot be trusted.
