Egypt’s General Intelligence Service warned that a jihadi group is planning to launch terrorist attacks against the US and Israeli embassies in Cairo, according to a report Tuesday by Egypt Independent, citing a secret letter obtained by Al-Masry Al-Youm.

According to the report, the attack is being planned by Global Jihad, the group suspected of killing 16 Egyptian border guards in Sinai on August 5.

Al-Masry Al-Youm reportedly obtained a copy of the September 4 letter, sent to all Egyptian security sectors, warning that Sinai- and Gaza-based Global Jihad cells were planning attacks on the two embassies.

Egypt’s military is engaged in an ongoing campaign to root out Sinai-based terrorists.

Consider this: you're the police chief of a major city and one of your underworld informants tells you that a notorious gang of bank robbers is preparing to knock over a bank in your city.

You ask "which bank?" and they say "don't know".

Now you can decide to either sit on your ass and wait to see which bank gets knocked over (since you don't have any "actionable" intelligence or specifics regarding the precise target of the bank robbers) OR: you increase your police presence in the area of EVERY bank in your city, so you are PREPARED for the eventuality that the bank robbers strike at any one of those banks.

Conclusion?

ALL intelligence is 'actionable', whether it means that you are tipped off to a specific target of terrorists, or a general warning is given which coincides with a symbolic date (9/11), which makes it more than reasonable for you to raise your level of security in order to be prepared across the board.

These rank amateurs know nothing except how to parse words.

And that's why they have the blood of a bunch of dead Americans, including an Ambassador on their hands.

I served as an intelligence analyst in the US Army for eight years in Panama monitoring dissident groups throughout Latin America and Islamic radical groups. How in the world this consulate was not on a heightened state of alert is mind numbing.

In the 4-5 years following Just Cause we always had heightened security and recommended limited civilian travel on important anniversaries, such as Just Cause or the death of General Omar Torrijos. By then violent protests had begun to dissipate but even in the years following we were STILL on heightened alert on those days as you never knew what could happen.

This is just stupid head in the sand stuff.

Obama knew and weighed whether to take appropriate action or ignore in the hopes it would either go away (empty chair decision) or work out to his advantage if it did blow up (MSM has his back decision). He decided it was the easier route to go ahead and sacrifice a few American lives and use their deaths to attack the First Amendment.
