He was scheduled to attend a meeting at a hospital/clinic the next day according to one report I read. The doctor who handed over his body to be returned to the US was supposed to meet with him and a doctor from Boston, I think, over improving facilities or some such.
They had to know his schedule weeks in advance to even know he would be in the country on that day.
