(CNN) -- Afghan insurgents who staged a daring, well-planned raid on Camp Bastion, the military base where Britain's Prince Harry is deployed, were wearing U.S. Army uniforms, NATO said a day after the attack.

It's extremely rare for Afghan insurgents to use U.S. uniforms in their attacks. The last time CNN can identify was more than two years ago, when NATO repelled attacks on two bases in Khost province in August 2010.

No coalition troops were killed in that attack, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said at the time.

At least two U.S. Marines were killed in the brazen strike late on Friday, and six jets were destroyed, ISAF said as it released more details about the raid.

“It’s extremely rare for Afghan insurgents to use U.S. uniforms in their attacks.”

Didn’t we hear reports about uniforms having been stolen a couple of years ago on Bammy’s watch?

Nice comforting thought for us from 0zero’s Big Media.

“It’s extremely rare for Afghan insurgents to use U.S. uniforms in their attacks.”

So we shouldn’t have expected them to ever do so?

Whatever happened to prepare for the unexpected?

HA! Boy,,the jokes really on them now! According to the law of war, our men can summarily execute them for wearing OUR uniforms! /

(can you IMAGINE what Obama would do if our Marines summarily executed anyone captured?)
I only point this out to illustrate the absurdity of the left demands that we scrupulously follow the law of war with this non-signatory, non-state entity.

14 out of 15 are looking for 72 virgins now, anyway.

As far as the uniforms, anywhere in the middle east, you can get any kind of uniforms you want. Just provide a sample, and a piece of material, and come back next week.

Nato runs the operation, and Americans get killed.

Funny how unconstitutional foreign leadership of our troops works.

It is not the first time terrorists have used US unifromas in an attack happened in Iraq too. When I was working in Qatar, as a contractor, for the Army there were rumors that some of our Hummvees and military equipment was stolen.

Well of course unifoms are widely available there. But my point is even the one captured alive. If he were walked to the perimeter and shot this afternoon with no trial. It would be legal.

But we can’t even play by our own codified rules, which the other side refuses to recognize anyway.

Amen brother, I got you! In fact if all 15 were captured in a van on the way to their jumping off points, they could be shot by the side of the road and left for the buzzards, adn I would take pictures and send them out to the muslim world.

Here’s how we win the war in Afghanistan......family quarters. We start building family housing in Afghanistan and we tell the admirals and generals that we’re moving their families over there. Call it PENTAGON FORWARD and send half the Pentagon over. This crap will be over in a month.

Meanwhile, command in the military still thinks soldiers, sailors, and airmen should be unarmed on base.

The base commander should be shot right after the one who survived.

According to the article, the attackers destroyed six AV-8B Harriers and damaged two more. This is a serious loss, and totally unacceptable.
