They were chanting; cheering to save him/ to help or to retrieve him. Need more info to tie things together. Very confusing images from this mob.

They certainly didn't handle the body with any great care or trating him as though he was still alive. The narrative being put out now is that they were cheering because the Ambassador was still alive.
