It is OK. Russians feel disrespected by the sight of dough held by a Muslim.
I've often wondered if it might be worthwhile to have a sit-down with the Russians and Chinese and make this offer:
We realize we've had a long history of animosity based on our political and economic differences. But this animosity is still relatively recent compared to the long contempt the Muslim world has held for non-Muslims.
Let's put aside our differences for now and carve out spheres of influence in the Muslim world and maybe in Africa. We'll even give China the lion's share of our third in return for writing down most or all of our debt. Deal with the Muslims as you think best because we've given up trying to civilize them.
Leave us only a strip of Egypt along the east bank of the Nile, the Suez Canal and the Sinai peninsula, Israel, Jordon and Lebanon to resettle those who can be civilized or already are because they are religious minorities.
Finally, let's set up a jointly administered enclave in Somalia to resettle the rest and to suppress piracy. We can even relocate the United Nations to Mogadishu so the whole world has a stake in its success.
I would not be surprised if the ‘dough’ was C4. Who goes out to sea in a narrow fishing boat to bake bread?
