Tim Tebow: ‘I Haven’t Ruled Out’ Running For Office Once Through With Football (Freep the poll)

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Tim Tebow may one day take his “Wildcat” offense to another field entirely: politics.

The most talked about player in football said in an interview that once he’s done with football he’ll “at least look at and consider one day” a run for office.

“I haven’t ruled it out. Whatever avenue I feel like I can make a difference in, I’d love to do,” the Jets’ backup quarterback told ESPN New York. “I haven’t ruled out anything like that. It won’t be anytime soon in my future, but it’ll be something I’ll at least look at and consider one day.”

It would be awesome to see Tebow run for national office after he wins four or five Super Bowls, wins several MVP Awards and retires from the NFL.

The guy is like 24 years old. Why would he rule out anything at this stage?

How about playing NFL quarterback for a winning season first?

Bet Tebow will win more games in his career than Ponder does.

Now, if Ponder leaves Minnesota for a better team, all bets are off.

My son and I were talking about him the other day. He is really good at turning around the insults of sneering and mean people in sports and he’s good at foiling their efforts to create destructive divisions among him and other players.

He has enough social grace for twenty five elected officials in Congress. I don’t know how good he’d be at lying and permitting secret treasonous schemes, though. The Dims would not want him because he’s not a commie slut so he’d probably be one of our’s.

This. And he's been a public speaker through his faith/church for a LONG time - why would he rule it out? The things the media finds to attack this guy are ridiculous. He may well not have the skill set to be a starting NFL quarterback, but the guy has been a righteous role model away from the field, doing some staggeringly kind things. God forbid we have somebody like THAT in office :)

Last year He almost took Denver all the way to the Super Bowl, but the Eco Liberals in Denver could not stand to see a solid Christian leading their team and they had him cut from the roster.

Sure. He’s got the right morals, he’s a natural leader, we need more folks like him. 77.56% (7,401 votes)

No way. I don’t even want him on the Jets! No ‘Tebowing’ your way into office! 7.63% (728 votes)

Maybe. It depends on his positions. 14.81% (1,413 votes)

I’m a huge Tim Tebow fan. Very fascinating person.

On Sunday, Mark Sanchez played like a man possessed. With Eva Longario. His mind was in another place.

Hey.... Ponder would make as good of a politician as Tebow. Both fine young men. While at FSU, Ponder received a bachelors in finance, an MBA, and a Masters in Sports Management. 3.73 GPA..

Do you believe that? That it had nothing to do with football?
