I remember one of the “Mission Earth” decacology books outright promoting this idea - homosexuality promoted as a means of benign population control. It seemed weird in the 1980s. Now it seems plausible, given the media promotion of it.

That Decology was Satirical Science Fiction, but it's interesting how the author, Ron L Hubbard (Creator of Scientology), was not far from the truth about the sick state of our culture.
