LOL!!
Many DoD civilian employees in Virginia ARE retired military or from military families. They do NOT “all vote Democrat.”. I know plenty of civilians from other agencies who again do not all vote Democrat.
Even amongst those Northern Virginians who are inclined to vote Democrat, there is nothing like the support for Obama that I saw 4 years ago. There was huge turnout for Ryan in Manassas the day that Romney picked him. Obama’s campaign bussed in a couple of dozen teacher’s union members and blacks from Maryland, all of whom were clearly paid to be there. AFGE - the federal union - is having a hard time ginning up the enthusiasm. Its members’ pay has been frozen during the Obama years. That never happened under Bush.
