Obama's Dangerous and Disastrous Presidency - What has improved under his rule?
The American Spectator ^ | September 19, 2012 | Quin Hillyer

Posted on 09/19/2012 3:59:31 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

How can any cogent American citizen possibly even consider voting for Barack Obama now? That's what lots of conservatives and moderates are asking each other, again and again. It's completely baffling, to those who grew up with any sort of sense of what America means and what the American character traditionally has been, that anybody can look at the man's record and want more of the same.

Almost the entirety of the Muslim world is now rioting against an American president who promised that his olive branches to Muslims would secure peace. Like Jimmy Carter, Obama has only shown a weakness that has emboldened the Islamist haters. Meanwhile, our closest ally in the region, Israel, a stable representative democracy led by an American-educated, America-loving prime minister, has repeatedly been insulted, abandoned, and undermined. In short, the United States is in worse position with all sides in the Middle East/northern Africa. We are embarrassed, feckless, wounded... and in four tragic cases, dead.

[snip: infamous list of incompetence and abuses]

The parade of abuses, incompetencies, extravagances, and illegalities goes on and on. The record of improvements in any sector of American life is… well, nil. Nothing is better, not a single thing, at home or abroad. And Obama has offered no recognizable plans, no new proposals, no substance at all, for making things better in a second term.

This presidency is a disaster. Reasonable people are gobsmacked at the possibility that it could somehow be allowed to continue its degradations of American society.

“What has improved under his rule?”

The position, strength, size and status of our enemies has CERTAINLY improved under the “O” administration!

This morning an ad was run on Orlando TV that was boasting how much better off we are than four years ago!

Un-freaking-believable!

“.Reasonable people are gobsmacked”

There’s the problem right there.
To expect that all people who vote are reasonable is a fantasy.
We are left with the only alternative, either find a way to manipulate the public or cheat to elect a “reasonable” candidate.
Not advocating just stating the obvious.
The public at large has lost the ability to reason.

Obama is the reductio ad absurdam of what Malcolm Muggeridge once aptly described as "The Great Liberal Death Wish."

He will take down the whole West, not just our country, and to the applause and cheers of nearly half of the population (oh, say, 47%).

Being "cogent" is a characteristic of an argument or a piece of text, not of a citizen.

The 9/11/12 Embassy Attacks - President Obama Built That..................."Al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood operatives learned this week they can coordinate operations against American interests in over 20 Muslim countries at any time of their choosing. They learned the Obama Administration's response to Islamist domination of our embassies was pathetically weak giving them the green light to escalate operations against the United States of America and her western allies. They learned the Obama Administration does not have the stomach to address Islamist terrorism head on. The Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda supporting groups like MPAC, ISNA, NAIT, ICNA, and CAIR are playing the double game doing damage control condemning the violent tactics but not the Islamist ideology the Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda operate from. The Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda know they won this round and feel emboldened to double down on this 9/11/12 stratagem of war and take it to the Kafir Infidel Americans.".....

What has improved? That’s simple.

The ability of the US government to subjugate the private sector.

We are at the crossroad.

Marxism is very attractive when capitalism affords it.

I know Catholics who will vote for it, while knowing it will devour their religion. I know Muslims will vote for it because it ends self rule and liberty, as Allah commands. But these people think America will still exist after they level all it’s principles.

It is envy that drives it. Jealousy and envy. A powerful emotion.

America will disintegrate after they break it. Too many have guns and will refuse the chains of Marxism. Too many remember freedom.

“The public at large has lost the ability to reason.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Those who are able to even approach the level of genuine logical reasoning have always been in the minority. What is so different now compared to the early days of this country is that it is much easier for unscrupulous demagogues to appeal to the mentally challenged using modern communications technology and secondly the level of education (as distinguished from mere possession of diplomas) is far lower on average now. We have removed all traditional requirements for voting such as ability to read and write and have lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 at a time when the average person has far less understanding of government and the average 18 year old is about as mature as the average 12 year old of 200 years ago.

What could possibly go wrong? We are reaping the harvest of democracy in practice. Our constitutional republic which was bought at such a high price in blood has been trampled on and replaced with an operational democracy which we were never supposed to have. Far from being the answer to all the problems of mankind REAL democracy is a horrid form of government. “One man one vote” is a recipe for disaster. You cannot have the people who live off government giveaways electing the people who enact the giveaway programs. You may as well negotiate the price of a piece of real estate by asking the seller how much he will ALLOW you to pay him!
