I shot 9 holes with Locke at Interbay, 7 or 8 years ago. It was pure chance I was a single and got thrown in with his threesome.
I, by no means, rub shoulders with the political class however, I’ve met a lot of politicians through my place of employment: Pelosi, Gorton, McDermmitt, Gregoire etc...
I totally disagree with his politics but, Locke was the first professional liberal I’ve met who didn’t come off like a complete prick. He was pretty nice and didn’t mention politics once.
He’s the kind of guy you disagree with, but you’d be fine golfing with on a regular basis.
I have also heard that even though he is a big-time liberal, he is...by many accounts...a genuinely nice guy. Same for his wife, Mona.
One of the very few exceptions for his party.
