Democrats need to change their party mascot from the donkey to the squirrel. They divert the media and the electorate’s short attention spans with fleeting, fuzzy objects — like the talking dog in the animated Pixar movie “Up,” who was easily distracted from his main thoughts and serious duties by every last little, moving trifle.
Embassy attacks? Quick, find a squirrel! Warnings ignored? Squirrel! American troops killed by long-plotting jihadis exploiting security weaknesses? Squirrel! First Amendment sabotage by White House officials in the name of political correctness? Squirrel! Chronic joblessness, high gas prices, exploding dependency? Squirrel! Squirrel! Squirrel!

I seem to recall during the primaries, the GOP establishment kept saying how Romney (in contrast to Newt and Rick) had gravitas, could be trusted not to cause embarrassment during the campaign, and would not “scare off” moderate voters.
Following Romney’s London, Cairo Embassy, and 47% gaffes, I guess the GOP establishment would say that Newt or Rick would be even worse?

excuse me ??? Romney just repeated what the Washington Compo had to say about the security firms that was hired for the London Olympics not having enough help. And Romney’s statement about the Cairo Embassy was right on the money. Why should the US be making excuses for terrorists killing our people. You don’t happened to be related to the Carter family do you?
