Two female police officers shot dead in Manchester as man arrested
Two female police officers have died after being lured to an apparent ambush where there were callously gunned down.

Fiona Bone, 32, and Nicola Hughes, 23, were responding to a routine report of a house burglary in the Mottram district of Greater Manchester when they were killed.
Shortly after the incident Dale Cregan, 29, who was being sought in connection with a gun and grenade attack in the city, walked into a police station and was arrested on suspcion of their murder.
It is understood that a number of shots were fired during the incident and a grenade was also detonated.

So he had to walk into the police station to get arrested?
Isn’t there a happy medium between U.S. cops busting into the wrong house and shooting the dog on a suspected simple possession case and U.K. cops getting killed in their own setup because they weren’t adequately prepared for violence?
Impossible! The U.K. has gun control.
Sharon Beshenivsky widower says police should be armed
The widower of murdered police constable Sharon Beshenivsky has said the death of two female police officers in Manchester should ‘open the public’s eyes’ to the need for police to be routinely armed.
Film director Michael Winner, founder of the Police Memorial Trust, added: ‘I cannot understand it when in all other countries police are armed to fight what is clearly a different situation today. It is ridiculous.’
Very sad. And i know it isn’t popular to believe these days. But you think someone is breaking into a house, or a thug is up to some kind of no good, or theres a fight in a bar, and you send those two little girls? And without weapons?
There were brave to go, and nothing bad to say about them at all. But they are part of a generation that was sold a bill of goods. Their smiles should have graced a home, not situations like this. No matter how often it happens in todays hit movies, women are not meant for inflicting violence.
This is sick beyond belief.
It reminded me of my father's comments about his time in England, during WWII.
He said that GI’s were emphatically instructed that Bobbies were literally UNTOUCHABLE.
This was a 'cast-in-stone' fact of life for British citizens AND US personnell.
I guess a lot has changed since then.

Well put. That is always the automatic assumption.
The world has worsened, but then what do you expect? If there is no respect for the law, then how can there be respect for its representatives?
Actually I knew a woman who was happiest in that situation.She much preferred being at home cooking and gardening,raising and playing with the kids,as opposed to having to go to work and deal with all that; and she confided she didn’t like wearing clothes.She was no backwoods raised idiot,she just knew what she preferred.
The man who children she had didn’t seem to realize how lucky he was.
Gee aren’t virtually all guns banned in the UK so where did the perpetrators get their guns??? I also assume that the two female police officers were unarmed when they responded to this call.
Any day now, we should be reading about the arrest of Sharon’s husband for “gun speech.” Full SWAT operation. Let’s just hope he won’t be carrying a child’s drawing of a gun at the time.
