Representative Jim Sensenbrenner (R., Wis.) has a post on the Hills Congress Blog highlighting a bizarre new regulation from the EPA requiring some gas stations to sell at least four gallons of gasoline at a time. It affects those that pump both E10 and E15 (gas with 10 percent or 15 percent ethanol) through the same hose. Since E15 is pretty terrible for small engines and old cars (Sensenbrenner says its like metal in a microwave for a small engine), the theory is that when customers whose engines cannot handle it are buying gas,

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Jimmy Carter and 1973 all over again. Next odd even license plates.
How much gasoline is actually between the switch choosing what I'm getting and the nozzle? It seems like 4 gallons is an awful lot for the difference between E10 and E15 unless a gallon is between the switch and the nozzle.
Just go to ethanol free stations(pure) like I do..
The age old question - “Or what?” This will be a true wonder to enforce.
so if a customer who’s engine can’t handle the gas is forced to buy a minimum amount, it’ll make sure to fry his engine.
Useful link to find pure gas. It's all I use.
The EPA...is there anything they don’t know and want to control?
Damn it! Well, then you find 'em, and you get 'em back in the dome! And to make sure nobody else gets out, I want roving death squads around the perimeter 24-7! I want 10,000 tough guys, and I want 10,000 soft guys to make the tough guys look tougher! And here's how I want them arranged: tough, soft, tough, tough, soft, tough, soft, soft, tough, tough, soft, soft, tough, soft, tough, soft!
Sir, I'm afraid you've gone mad with power.
Of course I have! Have you ever tried going mad without power? It's boring, no one listens to you!
I only made that mistake once, but it didn't ruin the car nor the engine. I was driving a 2008 Honda Civic.
This is a small example of why the US has crashed to 18th place on the Cato Index of economic freedom.
so if you buy ONE gallon you stil have to pay for FOUR?
Talk about a TAX PENALTY!
who keeps the extra money?
What about motorcycles, EPA?
When we fill up our Harleys we go to stations with separate hoses for each type of gas, not stations with one hose.
Problem solved.
Do you really think the EPA cares? Nope, just so long as it's held that they can actually do this.
It really is time to start teaching bureaucrats the rope-dance.
so the epa will mandate seperate hoses because the regulation will create more jobs. Then you have to have hose inspectors. Then there will be tax collections on the parts... I think a democrat just had an tax orgasm.
None in my neck of the woods
Destroying engines stimulates the economy. Just like taking lead out of gas did.
