Chick-fil-A Allegedly Agrees to Stop Funding Conservative Groups Opposed to Gay Marriage
TheBlaze ^ | September 19, 2012 | Billy Hallowell

The seeds of chaos were planted in July when Chick-fil-A President Dan Kathy appeared on a radio show and publicly stated that his company opposes same-sex marriage. It didn’t take long for his statements to reverberate throughout the nation, with civil rights groups, media outlets and the public at large responding feverishly. This, teamed with the angst that was already created months before over Chick-fil-A’s past donations to groups that support the traditional family unit, created a furor.

With the dust having finally settled, a shocking report from a Chicago-based gay rights group claims that the fast food chain has now pledged to stop funding groups that stand against legalizing gay marriage. In a press release on Tuesday, The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) announced that an internal Chick-fil-A document shows that the company is re-thinking which organizations it will fund.

I wrote a note to Mr. Dan Cathy last night [not that I expected him to reply to me] and was hoping one of his minions would direct me to a definitive reply that would straighten out this PR fiasco once and for all. What the Cathy Family does with their money through private donations, is nobody’s business, as far as I am concerned.

I hate to see them change their foundation’s policy since they received such a good amount of support from their loyal customers during the last dust-up.

I work at CFA and trust me, as the Eagles sing “They are already gone!” I've seen the internal memo, nothing out of the ordinary for legal jargon on anti-discrimination. However it is NOT a Christian company, the owners/top management will tell you that, it's a company based on Biblical values. And even that is going by the wayside, they use the concept of stewardship to cover greed, serving others as actually serving the operator of the store and their financial goals, the managers that actually run the stores are paid little, with no/few benefits ( I know a lot of managers). I know the free market argument, blah blah, blah and agree with it however if you MARKET yourself as a Christian company then I would think more of your profits would filter down to the people that by and large make those profits possible and who came to work there under the guise of working for a Christian company/store. did you know the average sales at a CFA are $3+Million average operator salary is over $200k and their are a lot making over $300-400k. Good for them that's the American way however in my Christian walk such largess should filter down to take proper care of your workers, especially those the operators know have families. I would've expected more from CFA in that regard, even if the operators don't help full time employees corporate CFA would but no. Nepotism is VERY rampant is operator selection. Notice they cut out stores playing Christian lyrics? Every CFA now plays instrumental Christian songs, but at lower volume and if you aren't familiar with the song you'd have no idea. Externally they say its to make all stores music more homogeneous but internally there was a big debate about Christian music/lyrics offending people and having lower sales in the west, northeast and upper Midwest where CFA has started to expand. It seems the money has won out and that is what your beloved CFA has become. I say your because obviously there are tons of followers out there but I've learned first hand who they now are. Give them one more generation and they will be open on Sunday (b/C the “customer” demands it) and the operator agreement will be changed to send more money back to Atlanta. I could go on but you get the picture, stop the devotion to CFA, they aren't what they market themselves to be.

Why do you believe every report on the net, why?

Keep fighting the good fight. You've been proven right ... yet again!

After all these years and all the media lies, people still jump on every headline that comes over the wires.
