Chick-fil-A Allegedly Agrees to Stop Funding Conservative Groups Opposed to Gay Marriage
TheBlaze ^ | September 19, 2012 | Billy Hallowell

Posted on 09/19/2012 11:59:56 AM PDT by Daffynition

The seeds of chaos were planted in July when Chick-fil-A President Dan Kathy appeared on a radio show and publicly stated that his company opposes same-sex marriage. It didn’t take long for his statements to reverberate throughout the nation, with civil rights groups, media outlets and the public at large responding feverishly. This, teamed with the angst that was already created months before over Chick-fil-A’s past donations to groups that support the traditional family unit, created a furor.

With the dust having finally settled, a shocking report from a Chicago-based gay rights group claims that the fast food chain has now pledged to stop funding groups that stand against legalizing gay marriage. In a press release on Tuesday, The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) announced that an internal Chick-fil-A document shows that the company is re-thinking which organizations it will fund.

Mission accomplished for the Lavender mafia.

I can think of one battle they'll never win. And the one they want the most.

Ditto. I’ll believe it when Chic-fil-A actually puts out their own press release until then though... It’s just another dis-information campaign to me.

This is “jamming” (like the radio signal) Only pro homosexual based donations allowed and now any pro marriage donations are “jammed”.

Chick fil a just went stupid.

** reliable sources who did not wish to be identified** == “we made it up”

This phrase: “publicly stated that his company opposes same-sex marriage” alone convinces be this is bulls**t.

He was asked HIS opinion so he stated HIS opinion. This is the first I have seen ANYwhere asserting he was speaking for the company.

I wouldn’t believe it without the CEO affirming it.

And here it is:

Jul. 31, 2012 Chick-fil-A Response to Recent Controversy

Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and family-led company serving the communities in which it operates. From the day Truett Cathy started the company, he began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business.

The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect –regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.

Our mission is simple: to serve great food, provide genuine hospitality and have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.

From the source of all sources - a pro-fag group....

Additionally, they have sent an internal memo to franchisees and stakeholders that states that as a company, they will “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender” and that their “intent is not to engage in political or social debates.”  This statement was placed into an official company document called “Chick-fil-A: Who We Are.”

Look Dammit. CFA has ALWAYS maintained this Christ-like virtue; to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender. This is NOT NEW.

ALL THIS BROU-HA HA IS IS A LAME ATTEMPT TO FOOL GULLIBLE CONSERVATIVES INTO THINKING CFA GAS FOLDED AND CAVED IN.

AND WHAT IS FREAKING SAD IS... MANY FREEPERS HAVE LOOKED ONLY AT THE MISLEADING HEADLINES AND INCOMPLETEE EXCERPTS AND SAID; "BY GOLLY - THE FAGS ARE RIGHT. CHICK-FIL-A HAS LOWERED THEIR STANDARDS."

YES, I'M SHOUTING. YES, I'M PISSED OFF.

Shame on so many of you.

Ok, that last thread also disappeared my post about the forces arrayed against internet freedom. Reading the manifest here, there’s all kinds of good intentions, but on balance icare is for the islamics.

Dear colleagues and friends,

The International Network Against Cyber Hate (www.inach.net), founded in 2002 by Magenta Foundation/MDI and Jugendschutz.net in Germany has its annual conference on Monday, September 24. This is our 10th year of existence and during that period we have gotten removed tens of thousands of instances of cyber hate in 20 countries; online racism and discrimination, antisemitism and Holocaust denial, hatred against Muslims and Roma and Sinti, and lots of other forms of hate. We are proud to have made this contribution to a better Internet.

We also trained web forums how to do effective moderation, gave courses and workshops in schools and other places, published reports, CD-ROMs and manuals, and lobbyed both the Internet industry, international institutions and politicians.

Removal of discriminatory material helps but is not a definitive solution, just as the police will not make crime disappear. The time is now for all actors ‘on’ the Internet, like the Internet industry, judiciary, NGOs, users and user groups, to jointly commit on actively countering online hate and incitement to hate, and to support and defend the values and methods that counteract online hate.

To this end the Internet Common Values Charter was created by INACH and we are asking you to sign it. The Charter can be found here:
http://www.inach.net/INACH-Internet-Common-Values-Charter.pdf (english)

Those who wish to sign can do so by sending an e-mail to ro@inach.net
with the text ‘Yes, I am signing the Internet Common Values Charter’in the body.
If you want us to list you or your organisation in a certain way, please let us know.

From next Monday on it will be possible to sign online, since the Charter will be officially launched during our conference. It will be available on our website, www.inach.net

Your support is much appreciated!

More about the conference: http://www.inach.net/INACH-invitation-berlin-conference.pdf

Sincerely,

Ronald Eissens, board member International Network Against Cyber Hate (INACH)

If that's true, then yep. The Family Research Council was the big one they were donating to that got shot up by the domestic terrorist. If they're no longer donating to them, then they definitely caved. Doesn't seem like the country has a chance in hell if every person with any power gives the leftists and the Muslims everything they want every time.

Salamander,

Please at least wait until Chick-Fil-A says this is true. I personally don’t believe it for a second. The guy has been around WAY TOO long on Earth to suddenly change his principles. If I hear from him or the company than I would worry.

So in other words, they caved.,P> Yes, if they stop donating to organizations that supported traditional marriage, which they were contributing to before the great show of support from customers, then they have caved.

CFA needs to clarify this in very specific terms, not sweeping generalities.

“If this is true, then IMHO they are making a huge mistake. They will loose all the goodwill, and probably a lot of customers they gained by standing up for what they believe.”

Depends on the customer mix (% of franchises on or near college campuses, for instance).

I thought that this company was privately owned. The company did not make donations with company money. The owners made donations with their own portion of the profits. How do they stop private individuals from making donations?
