I think the “47% video” was smartly blunted by the “redistribution video.”
It’s basically a “he did it, too” argument, and while it’s grade school logic, it seems to work.
Another possibility is that people see a number — 47% — and tune it out.
American voters pretty much don’t like wonk discussions with numbers.
If Romney could come up with a video of Obama ax-murdering a kitty cat, or pulling the legs off a grasshopper, then that would resonate.
Graphic sells. Numbers kill.
