OJ killed his wife, Kato says (Now he tells us)
New York Post ^ | 09/20/2012 | Cindy Adams

Unless you were born after 1996, you know Kato Kaelin. In the Year of Our Lord 1994, Kato Kaelin was famous. Hot. Headlines. Front page. In everyone’s mouth. On everybody’s lips. TV, radio, newspapers. Kindergarten kids crayonned his name. More mentions of Kato and lawyer Kardashian than today’s mentions of Kanye and Kardashian’s kid Kim.

He was a star of O.J. Simpson’s trial for killing his wife, Nicole. At their house that night, he saw, he heard. He knew who, what and where. The prosecution labeled Kaelin a hostile witness. Unemployed, a freeloader, did he tell the truth then? The world smelled O.J.’s guilt. Simpson went free.

Ask Kaelin today, this very minute, if O.J. — currently jailed in Vegas on a separate charge — killed his wife, and I repeat his exact words:

“The statute of limitations has now passed . . . so I can now say . . . yes, he did it.”

Why didn’t he come forward and tell the truth? Ask why he let O.J. Simpson get away with murder, and I repeat his exact words:

“I was too scared. I was terrified.”

Time and his moment have passed. Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here together in memoriam of Kato Kaelin’s dead career. He says: “People hated me. I’ve been spat upon. They threw gum in my coffee.”

Little bit of a personality, little bit of a talk-show host and guest, little bit of a D-list actor in Z-minus movies, little bit on game shows, poker tournaments, reality things that didn’t make it. He’s now starting a Web site to answer questions, chat personalities, maybe do a book.

OJ was acquitted and cannot be retried for murder unless the feds want to make a violation of civil rights case against him

They should've tried him for one murder at a time so they had a do-over when the first case flopped.

BTW, if they had evidence and had proof as you alleged, that one of the cops had actually planted evidence in a high profile double murder trial, do ya think the cop would not have been prosecuted and sent to prison?

In a just world he’d still be in prison

No sale.

The trial was a sham due to the racist on the jury. You said the defense had PROOF a cop planted evidence. Ya think if they did, they would not have gone after the cop with extreme vengeance?

Come on.

There was NO proof that any evidence was planted. Just a lot of spin by Simpson's attorneys.

You would have. I would have.

We are not the DA, we don’t have to work with these cops every day and depend utterly on them to do our jobs. (I think you and I would still put his sorry butt in jail for a long, long time).

He did get fired and ended up having to move to what any Angelino would consider Hell...

Put a blood soaked leather glove into a dryer set on "hi" for an hour, and guess what happens.

Based on that evidence alone, there's only one possible conclusion.

KEN DID IT.

The vial of blood was carried by Vannatter, not Furman. It went to the evidence tech at OJ’s place, not the crime scene. The “preservative” is a chemical commonly found in a multitude of places, including soaps and canned foods.

Don’t know if that is true, but it is the way to bet.

That's pie in the sky...Again, didn't happen. Look, if the defense had proof some cop planted evidence, it would have been field day for them....A defense lawyers dream come true, with the cop being sent to devils island for 90 years.

It simply didn't happen.

Saw one of the jurors interviewed on TV once; the level of stupidity this lady exhibited was astonishing.

OK. It’s been a while and I’m a little hazy on some of the details.

Can we agree that OJ did it and was acquitted?

I really want to believe you. When I lived in LA I often heard people complain that the cops planted evidence on them or their friends or family members.

I discounted this every time.

After the OJ trial, I’m no longer as certain they were all blowing smoke.

I wish it were otherwise.

Darden recently gave an interview in which he claimed the defense had “borrowed” the gloves and torn the lining. I always went for a combination of shrinkage and the shape he held his hand in. If Darden hadn’t let himself get baited into agreeing to the demo, it would never have come into evidence.

I was part of an online group of “legal professionals” (which pretty much meant anyone who had an interest in the case) which held daily online discussions on the case. Those of us who couldn’t watch the coverage had access to the overnight transcripts. We were monitored on a daily basis by both sides. After the verdict, we had dinner with some of the defense attorneys who did the blood evidence. They were still touting the evidence tampering line. I wasn’t buying it.

Could never understand how the prosecutors hoped to show that the glove would fit Simpson.

Ever try putting on a leather glove whilst wearing a rubber glove?

*sigh* May my life never depend of 12 people who were too stupid to get out of jury duty!
