Martin Bashir: Rich Achieving Bigger Income Gains Than Rest of Country Is 'Redistribution'

The more I watch MSNBC's Martin Bashir, the more I believe he has difficulty finding the floor in the morning when he wakes up.

Consider Thursday's program when he actually told his tiny audience that the rich seeing bigger income gains than the rest of country the past 30 years is "redistribution" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Martin Bashir: Rich Achieving Bigger Income Gains Than Rest of Country is 'Redistribution'

MARTIN BASHIR: Now, I’m no economist, but I’ve read the report from the Congressional Budget Office which says that income going to the top one percent rose 275 percent over the last 30 years while the rest of America incomes either stagnated or fell. That sounds a lot like redistribution to me, just not the kind that they like to talk about, and apparently, they don’t like you to see either

Now, for those of you thinking I made this up or this was Bashir telling a joke, that's not the case.

He was actually serious.

In his mind - such as it is - one person seeing faster gains in income than another is redistribution.

I wonder how many of the employees at MSNBC feel that way, particularly those like Bashir who are in front of the camera.

Since he makes far more than everyone else on that set every day, does he think their money is somehow being redistributed to him?

Actually, given the absurdity of his comment, the better question is does he think period?

Let's clue Bashir in: redistribution is government taking money from some and giving it to others. It's not some people making more than others.

Sadly, I doubt he'll ever get such a simple concept as from what I've observed since he got his own show on MSNBC, he understands almost nothing.

That's why he's a perfect fit for this farce of a "news network."

I can see how a Marxist would feel that way.

Idiots like this propped up the socialists in places like his homeland. What flawed logic. I wonder what his salary is.

Yes, he's confusing distribution with redistribution. Engaging in commerce is distribution. Taxing it and then giving it to someone else is redistribution.

Martin Bashir getting a salary is redistribution. Come to think of it, Martin Bashir metabolizing oxygen that could have gone to those more deserving is redistribution.

This is the same kind of thinking I had to put up with when I was teaching. Liberal Arts saw the College of Business growing by leaps-and-bounds while their majors were tanking. Their idea was to take money from us to keep their departments afloat. In other words, the pie is fixed and the only way for me to have more is to take it away from you. That's Obama's philosophy, too.

He is so friggin' stupid he doesn't see that, even if your share remains the same, growing the pie gives everyone more. Sorry, Stupid, but I haven't seen too many poor people creating jobs lately, but let's punish those who do. What an idiot!

I am not impressed with the countless ways "Those People" are trying to justify raping the rich.
Of course, it's all fun and games until one of THOSE PEOPLE become rich, then
they just slide off into obscurity full of guilt and run for homeowners
association president or City Council seats around the country.
Because now they have money...

I happened to have lunch the other day with a good friend of mine who makes a million a year and, this being Hollywood, is a liberal. I told him that the thing I despise most about Obama and his crew is their enthusiastic violation of the commandment against coveting. Their encouragement of this most base of human instincts, envy and greed for what you didn’t earn and aren’t entitled to, I said, is evil and repulsive. It’s the basis of communism and every other horrible anti-human philosophy that’s ever wormed its way into power.

I think he heard me.
