'Gay' advocates cook up Chick-fil-A fairytale
WND ^ | September 20, 2012 | Dave Tombers

“Gay” media organizations and the mainstream press have headlined over the last two days Chick-fil-A’s “change” that they claim means the company suddenly is promising not to discriminate against homosexuals – and that it would stop giving money to those organizations that promote traditional marriage.

But it appears the facts are that the company’s anti-discrimination policy remains just as it was months ago .. and its donations appear to have had no new directive applied.

It was a statement from The Civil Rights Agenda that prompted the recent headlines. The statement said of the Cathy family’s foundation, the WinShape Foundation, “is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas.”

The Civil Rights Agenda didn’t name groups, but others did. One was the National Organization for Marriage, which responded immediately, “Despite recent news articles claiming Chick-fil-A’s WinShape Foundation donated money to our organization – this is false. The National Organization for Marriage has never received funding from them. We support Chick-fil-A’s philosophy that every person is treated with ‘honor, dignity and respect – regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender;’ and we will continue to endorse ‘Chick-fil-A Wednesdays’ calling upon all supporters of marriage, free speech and religious liberty to thank Chick-fil-A’s president, Dan Cathy, for taking a courageous stand to speak out in defense of marriage and his freedom to speak.”

The Family Research Council ..told WND that it has gotten nothing since a $1,000 donation in 2010.

Focus on the Family ..declined WND’s request for comment.

Even Anthony Martinez, TCRA executive director, said in an interview with Windy City Media Group that the language Chick-Fil-A uses in its non-discrimination policy hasn’t changed.

The whole thing was started by a Chicago politician. Why would anyone believe anything out of the mouth of such scum?

Still, I’d like Dan Cathy to be more forceful in repudiating this “news.” If it’s false, say so.... LOUDLY.

One would think that a press release from a liberal organization would merit skepticism until validated. I guess some folks still haven't learned that particular lesson.

exactly

It amazes me how some on here know the media or the homosexuals lie and then when they read some far left pro queer site those same people then get all bent out of shape as if it were the truth.

Homosexuals always lie, they lie to friends and family about just wanting to be with each other, how it's all love etc and some fall for it.
They lie about being a majority.
They lie about the youth all in support of them and yet not one of my kids who are at school or their pals think it;’s alright.

Can't do that. Somebody might hear. It was basically the same reaction the company offered to Chick-fil-A Day. But in this case, the gays/leftists have clearly had the last word, and even if the company should some day again give money to a group opposed to gay marriage, nobody will ever hear about it. The Christians will be safely underground. The liberals will have total control of the discussion.

Redundant.

Chick-Fil-A put out a statement on their FB page (and probably other places too) reiterating what their company policy is and always has been, as well as their charitable giving policy and history. Nothing has changed, including the propensity for haters to hate and liars to lie.

Both characteristics of mans fallen nature. Probably explains why we need a... Savior...

Well, the confusion seemed to have started much earlier then. Homosexual groups were complaining that Chick-Fil-A was donating to groups against homosexual marriage. Wiki mentions that $1,000 donation two years ago, but also says $5 million was donated to “groups that oppose same-sex marriage.” Have donations stopped to any of these groups?

Here’s what Wiki says on their donations:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick-fil-A#Same-sex_marriage_controversy

In January 2011, the media reported that Chick-fil-A was co-sponsoring a marriage conference with the Pennsylvania Family Institute (PFI), an organization that has opposed same-sex marriage legislation.[31] Chick-fil-A clarified that “one of our independent Restaurant Operators in Pennsylvania was asked to provide sandwiches to two Art of Marriage video seminars.”[32] The WinShape Foundation, a charitable organization founded by Truett and his wife, also stated it would not allow same-sex couples to participate in its marriage retreats.[33][34]

Chick-fil-A has made over $5 million of donations via WinShape to groups that oppose same-sex marriage. Of this, more than $3 million was donated primarily to Christian organizations with anti-gay[35] agendas, between 2003 and 2009.[36] A total of $1.9 million was donated in 2010 to groups such as the Marriage & Family Foundation, Exodus International and the Family Research Council (FRC)[37]. That year, the FRC, which received $1,000[36] was listed as an anti-gay[38] hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.[39][40][41] WinShape has also contributed to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Exodus International, the latter noted for supporting “ex-gay” conversion therapy.[37] In response, students at several colleges and universities worked to ban or remove the company’s restaurants from their campuses.[42]

Me thinks that the libs are trying a statue of Liberty play by announcing that Chick-fil-A has gone to the dark side. By trying this they are trying to anger those of us who so prominently supported them. If they can get us to believe this, it could cause a boycott of Chick-fil-A, thereby achieving the goal of the libs to take down the company.

Then why are farticles from the CSM posted here? I learned a long time ago that CSM was nothing but a liberal rag. Everything I've ever read in CSM was either bull**** or just false information. I'd believe the National Enquirer and even that World Weekly rag showing President Bush shaking hands with the aliens over CSM. We should not be spreading the state controlled "media's" manure around. Make them do it.

CFA isn’t disputing this. Their statement seems to be saying they had already backed down before this happening. And it seems they had already given in to the protest groups in 2010. Basically, the protesters were protesting the wrong company.

Now that you've got that out of your system, my post is from WND, so maybe you can enlighten me as to the basis for your comment?

I just heard about this on the radio and was thinking there’s sumpin nawt right about this story.

Can you imagine what a breaking blunder it would be if true.....

No way I can imagine Dan Cathy or execs would come close to doing something this stupid.

But eve if they had, my support for them was about Free Thinking and Free Speech and I am going to say hi to our local franchiser, Will, when I grab a spicy chicken sandwich.
