First lady says there’s ‘bromance’ between Obama, Bill Clinton By Alicia M. Cohn - 09/21/12 04:43 PM ET
Michelle Obama this week acknowledged that the extended hug between President Obama and former President Clinton at the Democratic National Convention, in a surprise appearance by the president following Clinton’s speech, was “the public display of the bromance” that has been going on for some time.
Obama and the first lady have invoked Clinton’s name many times on the campaign trail since his well-received speech to the Democratic convention earlier this month. Both Obama and his GOP opponent, Mitt Romney, have featured Clinton’s policies in TV ads, with Romney charging that Obama is gutting Clinton policies and Obama warning that Romney's plan contrasts with the days of plenty represented by the Clinton years.
"Barack stays in close communication with all the former presidents, and Bill Clinton has been an important adviser, friend and supporter for a very long time,” the first lady told “Access Hollywood” in an interview airing on Thursday and Friday this week. “Barack understands that to be good at this job, you've got to learn and listen to those who've done it. And because there are so few people alive today who've done this job, you don't waste any advice. He's reached out to all the living presidents and seeks their advice and counsel."
Clinton has also headlined fundraisers on Obama’s behalf this cycle, but in 2008, when his wife Hillary Clinton was competing against Obama for the Democratic nomination, Bill Clinton was one of Obama’s most outspoken opponents.
“We haven't been close friends a long time or anything like that, but [Obama] knows that I support him,” Clinton told NBC News earlier this month.
Clinton’s popularity has grown since he left the presidency, which might be one reason both presidential campaigns are now referring to him as they argue in favor of their own policies.

That’s not a bromance. For a sociable guy like Clinton, that’s distancing himself. Now, Clinton and George Bush 41 developed more of a normal friendship. They were comfortable with each other. And they didn’t have to go out of their way to say it.
I think Obama is trying to get the story across that he and Clinton are friends so that some of Clinton’s popularity will rub off on him, and so that it looks like he has at least one male friend who isn’t his “body man”.
“It’s also stupid, if she really thinks that. Clinton’s smiling to his face and awaiting his opportunity to plunge the knife in (metaphorically, in case any secret service are monitoring...)”
Whether you like Bubba or not, at least he’s the real deal, and there’s simply no way Bubba is going to respect a phony poseur like Zero. I have no doubt that Bubba simply detests Zero. Not to mention there’s no way that two alpha wolves like these two are ever going to do anything but try to figure out a way to rip the other’s throat out.
It is usually used when talking about one man having a sort of "crush" on another man, but not in a "gay" way. At least that is how I have understood it. WRT Obama and Clinton, Michelle called it right, Barry is the one who has a crush on Billy, Billy only crushes on women who are not his wife.
Well .. I have been wondering about another “romance” in the WH.
Wed or Thur, while I was listening to Rush and he was commenting on the events in the Middle East, he ended the comments with the following comment, “Well, at least it’s not about sex”. The moment he said that - I remembered a still photo I had seen that very day on FOX - a photo of Valerie Jarrett and Barack Obama. They were standing side by side - about 2 feet apart. They each had their arms folded across their chest, but they were looking at each other .. I mean .. when I saw that .. my first reaction was .. There’s a little sumthin sumthin going on here.
Then, I recalled a video I had seen several years ago. Valerie was introducing several speakers, and then she finally came to Obama. After she made just a few remarks about him, he walked to the podium, and she sat down with the group of people seated behind the podium. As he started speaking, she tilted her head and was gazing at him.
I may be past college age, but I have not forgotten that look. Her look said .. she is either sleeping with him .. or she wishes she was.
Then, you add the still photo from a few days ago .. and BINGO!! I cannot stop thinking there is something going on there. Valerie is with him all the time. Does she live in the WH ..?? And .. it has been mentioned several times that it was Valerie who was against killing Osama bin Laden - and that she talked Obama out of it more than once. If she has that much power in the WH .. it makes me even more suspicious.
To me .. this leads me to an even more interesting question, was Obama willing to lie about the killing of our Ambassador to protect Valerie. My reasoning is many.
We all remember that when the Clintons were in the WH, they hated the military so much that they refused to allow the officers in the WH staff to wear uniforms. Put that together with the fact that several times it has been mentioned that NO LIVE FIRE IS ALLOWED IN OUR EMBASSIES. Since Hillary Clinton (as Secy of State), has authority over all the U.S. embassy and consulate staff, was it Hillary’s directive to remove the live ammo from the military who were there to protect our embassy property and our embassy staff ..??
Was Valerie complicit in this “live ammo” issue .. did she know more about this whole issue than anybody has been able to discover so far ..?? Or, is it possible that Valerie was the person who helped write the “apology” from the Embassy in Egypt ..??
Our Ambassador paid with his life for these reckless and idiotic practices.
I know I may sound like I’m rambling, but I just don’t trust the people in this administration .. they will lie about anybody and anything to protect their own backside.

Just asked my kids and two of their friends who are all at school if they knew the word and they all said they have never heard of it and it sounds queer and stupid.
Maybe we’re down south is the reason we’ve not heard it and think of it as stupid or we just don’;t hang about witht he Harvard stuck up elitist types.
