Well, we should stop using even that polite term. They are:
Illegal Aliens, Alien Criminals, or maybe just plain ILLEGALS.
Leave the word immigrant right out of the picture. Whoever controls the language, controls the debate.

Alien Trespassers
First and foremost, we need to make a clear distinction between an immigrant—in a nation of immigrants, respected and welcome—and somoeone who deliberately sneaks over the border or ashore into this or any other country.
Illegal aliens are not allowed in ANY country on God's Green and Blue Earth! Except of course ours in the Liberal mind set.
To sneak into this country illegally, and most importantly not being able to or desire to control the same is tantamount to treason. The country is not safe when this happens. In a time of world-wide terrorism, how can a Liberal in good conscience think this is allowable?
It's not about Mexicans!
Consider the poor Mexican or Hispanic person in a Latin American country who travels to the US Consulate, fills out all the immigration paperwork and waits patiently for his paperwork to be received, perhaps corrected (requiring another trip), and then waiting for the visa. This normally takes years if not decades.
Meanwhile, thousands are just giving the law the raspberry and rushing the border knowing that not only are they usually not going to be caught but are coddled by the Gringo Left as victims of racism! Hot dog what a deal! or should I say el Perro caliente!
But what if among those racing in is an Al Qeada hit squad? Terrorists with biological agents? Enemy combatants?
Even things as chilling as this, and they are, we and every other country are supposed to health check visitors. Those that sneak in might have diseases that are highly communicable, and in an epidemic, potentially kill million of innocent Americans.
Once again, the Left wants to ignore all that and simplify the issue as one of racism. Us Republicans are racist against Mexicans. We are only opposed to illegal aliens because we hate Speedy Gonzales. Or we stole all of North Mexico and they (illegal alien Mexicans) have every right to take it back.
They consider terrorism, epidemics and other concerns as merely strawmen of the Right that shouldn't concern us. The smart ones even use these concerns to get us to consider amnesty for those already here and we can THEN monitor the border to keep terrorists out.
So fight this, as you say. When someone changes the term to undocumented worker or whatever, fight. Refuse to accept it. If they insist, the argument is over. Tell them you can't simply let this be because it is not what the issue is about at all.
