The Dems didn’t want Lieberman either ... until they needd him for the 60th seat. If Akin is their 50th (or Heaven forbid, 51st) seat needed to win back the Senate, they’ll be singing a different tune!

This makes me Sick! This is free advertising for McCaskill! I DO NOT want her for my senator again for 6 LONG years. I loathe the GOP for doing this. I do not loathe conservatives or local GOP. Preibus needs to be fired.

Were not going to play in Missouri with Todd Akin, I can tell you that, Priebus said

Priebus...you jerk...it’s not a game!
Hopefully, Newt’s support will help Akin win the election. Sounds like the voters are coming back to Akin.
The GOPe are pathetic.

Preibus pretty much locked himself into this position when he so publicly and forcibly threw Akin under the bus the day after the rape quote hit the air. Very poor decision making on his part.

He may even caucus with the Democrats if hes the swing. He won't do that, but safe to say if he wins then Akin doesn't owe the GOP establishment anything.

Not sure Akin will lose. MO is a very conservative state.
I’m not an Akin fan but Claire’s radio ads are getting desperate...

I am an educated person; educated enough to not make- believe that Akin was talking about a “magic uterus”; that wasn’t what he was saying, it is only what Hollywood Republicans like S.E. Cupp decided he was saying.
Akin was describing a little known and unproven theory that in most cases, a woman who is raped does not become pregnant. It was not a good theory to bring up, since it is only a theory and not a strong one, but he did not say that a woman can voluntarily stop herself from becoming pregnant by her will alone. That’s just what S.E. Cupp (only heard of because she is supposedly pretty) decided to tweet to remain a cool kid. She’s a Hollywood Republican.
Go ahead and support McKaskill or whatever dinosaur moderate Republican you can find to take Akin’s place by Tuesday.
To: hecht
My oh my. The days are getting shorter but the bitter fruits of unreasoning hate still cling to the vine.
To: hecht
No, ALL educated people were disgusted with his comments, and he can apologize , but he meant what he said . Let him condemn the whole concept of the magic uterus and all the toothless hillbillies that believe it. I loathe you and your attitude. Todd is a solid pro-life conservative. I'm voting for him, and sending him cash. What are you doing here? What is your DU handle?
To: Big Giant Head; hecht
I’m educated and sending money to Akin today~~

If we lose the Senate because of this, there WILL be consequences. Youre talking about possibly deep sixing the repeal of Obamacare, etc. Party before country .... bunch of traitors, all of em. The senate is already poisoned with liberal republicans in the super majority over conservatives, so whether Akin wins or loses won't have much impact. I give you Sen Rand Paul's most recent vanquished bill concerning withholding of foreign aid to Islamic terror states as exhibit A.

Why? The media couldn’t deep-six Akin. Why do it for them?

Never. Akin is one of the most conservative members of Congress—97.24 lifetime ACU rating. He is not a Specter or Jeffords.

He may even caucus with the Democrats if hes the swing. He does that, and those various-stripes of Republicans who called for his withdrawal (mind you, not just GOP-e, but conservatives leaders as well like Palin and West) are vindicated.

I hope Aiken wins. Screw the GOP. Its time for a new party hopefully while Romney is in office. The GOP is just a liberal away from the DNC.

I thought Akin came back ahead in the polls. I can’t believe people would vote for McCaskill because Akin said one stupid thing.
