More swing-state voters trust President Barack Obama to handle Medicare than Mitt Romney, according to a poll Monday.

Fifty percent of registered voters in 12 swing states trust Obama to handle Medicare, compared to 44 percent who trust Romney more, according to a Gallup Poll. Nationally, Obama has a 51 percent to 43 percent edge over the Republican nominee.

Only 44 percent said Romney and running mate Paul Ryan have put forth a specific plan to overhaul Medicare.

Adults...not RVs, not LVs....also, the survey began 13 days ago, ended 7 days ago....and just NOW the “Politico” is running the story....

A blatant attempt to discourage us.

Whereas I don’t put too much stock in polls of ‘adults’, with likely very skewed internals, and find it hard to rectify national disapproval of Obamacare with trust of Obama on medicare, I think it is important for Romney to ram home the point about Obama’s gutting of medicare and to hit a home run on this issue during the debates. Obama will say anything to anyone (except that which could offend intolerant Islamists) that might help get him re-elected. Romney needs to set the record straight on each and every DNC and Obama lie.

I was unable to find any information on the number of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents who were included in this survey.

I guess Gallup is no longer publishing information on how they manipulate their survey results.

They just polled whomever answered the phone.

Not much better than an online poll.

Axelrod made his phone call to Gallup 2 weeks ago, and they started changing their party weighting.

A poll of ADULTS? Really? They may as well publish the results of an ONLINE poll...

Rasmussen is the only one approaching fairness, and I believe even he is under-estimating republican turnout for 2012 (as he did in 1994). Seriously: Do you know any republicans who were mad as hell and voted in 2010, but who are staying home in 2012?

This is just another feeble attempt to make us believe that Zero is the inevitable winner and we should just shut the hell up and stay home.

............................................................

Well honestly, if that question was asked to me I would have to say I don’t know their specific plan to overhaul Medicare either, and I consider myself fairly up on politics.

Romney promised to get rid of Obamacare but that is no plan to overhaul medicare. I do know that Obama took 500 Billion dollars from Medicare and that isn’t a very good plan either.

What is Romney’s specific plan to overhaul medicare?
Does it really matter/ It has to be better than stealing 500 billion dollars from it.

I wonder what the campaigns’ internal polls are showing.

Battleground poll purports to show 50-47 Obama without giving D/R breakdown. But in Ed Goeas’s analysis of this poll, we find this tidbit:

“Romney is also receiving a higher level of support among Hispanics (40 percent), which is driven by higher support from Hispanic men.”

Now, this poll only shows Romney with a 2% lead among Indies, but 91% of all Rs. Seems to me that as election nears, that will get close to 95%.

BTW, more from Goeas-—Romney leads on almost every single issue. There was one—forgot which-—that he slightly trailed on. Now, if Romney leads on every issue, is solidly winning middle class, white men/women, marrieds, 40% of Hispanics, and even (by that Battleground poll) a 2% advantage on indies. I fail to see how Obama ever gets to 50%.

Even this poll is good . The rats always had a strong advantage with this . The GOP is fighting this to a draw and that is a win

Regardless of who was polled, this emphasizes the poor manor in which Romney and Ryan are getting out information on Medicare plans. For instance, I live in Florida where we are bombarded multiple times nightly with Obama’s ad telling us that Mitt Romney will do away with Medicare. This, coupled with AARP’s lying endorsement so they can make more money through their insurance sales, has to have some effect on the elderly. Why doesn’t Romney run an ad addressing that Medicare premiums will increase in 2013 or that cuts will lead to less doctors accepting Medicare? If voters hear one thing over and over again, they will accept it as fact. Romney is clearly losing the early rounds with the public and has a lot to make up.

The answer is I don’t TRUST either of them, romney is the LESSER of 2 evils, which still makes him an EVIL, his governor’s record was way to liberal and close to 0’s choices than any who say they are conservatives. I would have preferred Allen West.
