The Endicott Peabodys and Cabot Lodges snubbed their Irish and Italian great-great grandparents 80 years ago, and they still haven’t forgiven the Republicans.

I'm not sure that that's entirely true.My Irish Catholic parents,both depression children from *very* humble beginnings,entered the 1960's as democrats but by the end of the decade were both Republicans.In my youth,for a short time,I was a Rat but soon came to my senses after having seen my tax bills...and lots of other things.

Some recover. I was raised Catholic and Democrat. FDR was a household saint, JFK was practically a member of the Trinity.
