Liz Warren on tomahawk chop video: Cut it out! (And: Brown calls her to task on corp work)
Boston Herald ^ | 9/26/12 | Chris Cassidy and Hilary Chabot

Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren says she was “appalled” at a video that appeared to show supporters of U.S. Sen. Scott Brown — including at least one staffer — performing war whoops and tomahawk chops, saying if one of her campaign workers did such a thing there would be “serious consequences.”

Asked whether she was appalled as an American Indian, Warren told reporters: “I am appalled as an American.”

“I think everyone knew what he was up to,” said Warren, who has been dogged by a growing scandal over her unsupported claims of Cherokee heritage and her professional claims of minority status. War whoops and tomahawk chops — used by fans of some sports teams — are seen as demeaning to American Indian. Brown did not commit to any disciplinary action against the staffer, but said there was no place for the behavior in his campaign.

ALSO, from Chris Cassidy: GOP Sen. Scott Brown this morning demanded Democrat Elizabeth Warren release a full list of the corporate legal clients she has represented while she has worked at Harvard University, a day after the Herald reported Warren had represented a steel conglomerate that was fighting a court ruling to pay out benefits to its retirees.

“Voters deserve to know your full involvement in these types of cases,” Brown wrote in a letter to Warren, which was released this morning. “Therefore, I am calling on you to provide a complete accounting of your corporate legal clients during your years at Harvard.”

Brown called Warren “the only candidate in this race who has stood on the side of large corporations over the middle class,” and claimed Harvard Law School requires faculty to report outside activities.

“There is a list, and it does exist,” Brown said. “You’ve compiled it before, and you’ve provided it to your employer. I believe the voters of Massachusetts — for whom you seek to work now — are entitled to no less a standard of transparency than what you provide to Harvard each year.”

Warren plans to hold a general media availability later this morning at Joseph’s Bakery in South Boston to receive the endorsement of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts.

Ted Kennedy slammed steel company Liz Warren represented

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/politics/view/20220926ted_k_slammed_steel_co_warren_represented/

The late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, whom Democrat Elizabeth Warren is repeatedly evoking on the campaign trail, railed against the steel conglomerate the Harvard Law professor represented in its bid to avoid paying benefits to retired coal miners.

Kennedy filed bills to require bankrupt companies to honor their pension agreements to retirees and specifically cited the company Warren worked for, LTV Steel, for using bankruptcy to shirk payments to retired workers.

“Many companies are using bankruptcy courts to abandon their pension plans,” Kennedy said during a speech on the Senate floor in Nov. 2005. “Hundreds of thousands of workers and retirees at companies such as United Airlines, US Airways, Bethlehem Steel and LTV Steel are now without the pensions they worked so hard to earn.”

And:

A spot of trouble for Ethel Kennedy?
By Gayle Fee And Laura Raposa With Megan Johnson / Inside Track | Wednesday, September 26, 2012 |

http://www.bostonherald.com | The Inside Track

Question du jour: Is Kennedy matriarch Ethel Kennedy really winning any votes for her grandson, congressman-wannabe Joe Kennedy III, by slapping his bumper sticker on her Audi and then parking in a handicapped spot with no handicapped plate?

And what about the Florida license plate?

Word is that Grammy, who winters in Palm Beach and summers in Hyannisport, has become a resident of the Sunshine State. Which means she can skip out on Massachusetts income tax and local excise taxes on her sweet ride!

“Apparently Ethel enjoys not only the Florida sunshine but its favorable tax policies,” said a family insider.

We rang up Joe III’s campaign peeps to ask about his grandmother’s tax situation and lack of handicapped plate or placard, but they declined to comment.

What we can tell you is that ever since she sold Hickory Hill, the family estate in Virginia, Ethel has been wintering in a veddy nice oceanfront home in Palm Beach, which she reportedly rents.

Anyway, the pics were snapped outside Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville, where Ethel attends Mass. According to our spywitness, she came late to church, beached the car in the handicapped spot and went inside to pray.

Now, in all fairness, Ethel is getting up there. She’s 84 years old and not moving as fast as she used to.

But jeez, Ethel, don’t you have any connections that can get you a handicapped tag?

So there would be “serious consequences” for her campaign staff for doing this? Does she mean the same “serious consequences” she received for defrauding educational institutions with false claims of her ethnic heritage? Or the “serious consequences” she received for practicing law in Massachusetts without a license?

Wow. It has been a long time since I've seen so much evil contained within 10-12 square feet.

Ch 7 video shows brief clip of tomahawk chop. Note: the pub shown, the Eire Pub, is where Reagan visited IIRC.
Brown says he doesn’t condone the behavior but “the real offense is that Prof. Warren ‘checked the box’” She was white and she checked the box saying she’s Native American. That’s quite offensive to Native Americans.”

(Note:as far as I’m concerned the vast majority of US citizens are Native Americans...born in the US, right?

If ridicule is the most potent weapon in politics (and it very well may be) then Warren is toast.

The local media is having the vapors, as is the moonbat axis of Newton/Brookline/Cambridge.

The rest of us working stiffs are letting out a collective yawn.

Weren’t Ted Turner and Jane Fonda seen doing it at Braves games too? :)

If this were the early 1950s—before the team moved to Milwaukee and then Atlanta—would someone like Warren lead a protest in front of Braves Field since the name of the team is clearly offensive? :)

(Wikipedia:
>>Braves Field was a baseball park that formerly stood on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts. The stadium was home to the Boston Braves National League franchise from 1915–1952, when the team moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Significant portions of the original structure still stand in place, and make up part of the Nickerson Field sports complex.)

I too am “appalled” Lizzie. I am appalled that you not only lied about your Indian heritage and used it to gain employment at Harvard, but you also were practicing law without a license from the very office that Harvard Law School provided you. I am appalled that you represented major corporations in lawsuits against workers when you claim you are running for office to help the middle class and the poor. Lizzie, you are one appalling liar.

I could go a different route with that, but it would derail the importance of this thread. :-)

But not appalled at the ease she employs to so easily lie?
