Matteo Renzi is on a crusade to become Italy's next leader. With his calls for wholesale change in the political landscape, the mayor of Florence is generating excitement like few other recent Italian politicians. But his main opposition is coming from the bigwigs in his own party who would also get the boot if he won.

Seriously, he is from the Partito Democratico (Democratic Party) which is the more left wing of the two major parties in Italy.
He has a little bit of that John Edwards look going on.

Unfortunately, most of Europe has been so hurt by socialism, that people are suffering, and thus susceptible to anyone promising them a government fix - even though the government caused the problem in the first place.
