I wasn't aware there were any marines present. His Libyan security disappeared with the first shots and were apparently caught on film directing the hit team to the safe house.

Two ex-seals were there for unrelated business and shot it out and were killed.

An 8 man team of civilian security "contractors" was sent from 400 miles away; I think one of them was killed.

Maybe someone else can help me clarify what happened but this is what I understand happened.
