You’ve been brainwashed by fear.
If this country is worth anything it will survive four more years of Obama.
If it can’t survive Obama, then Romney can’t save it either. At best maybe buy some time.
And if we’re in ‘buying time’ mode, I’d rather hit the wall now in my lifetime rather than leave it to my progeny.
I’ve said quite a few times, if Baraq wins in November, the most profound work on FR will be the “bolt or revolt” discussions.
What if there’s a tipping point after which we’ve done too much damage to survive? Just like a boat taking on water. What if we haven’t hit it yet, but Obama will bring us to it, while Romney/Ryan would prevent it? You can’t assume we never hit a point where recovery is impossible, and you would have to prove that it isn’t going to happen under Obama’s 2nd term to feel safe possibly allowing him to stay president.
I completely respect your stance on this. I felt the same way and have some misgivings about moving from my original position.
At the end of the day it comes to this, for me: I need to punish what Obummer represents more than I need to punish what the GOP has given me for a choice. There’s not much consolation in it, but I need for Obastard to be rejected. I need to see his ilk writhe in the reality that their ideas and values have been rejected.
You're one of those people who think nothing devastating--worse than 9/11, even--can ever happen to this country, that a tipping point, beyond which there is no return, can never be reached. You're so wrong, and the naivete and self-centeredness of you and people like you may be the ruination of this country.
I hope your right that the country will survive. However, I am a student of history and several things about Obama scare me to death.
1. The almost deification / extreem hero worship of Obama which reminds me of the rise of Mussolini or Hitler. 2. The media going from biased to flat out propogandists which again reminds me of Germany in the 1930’s. 3. Obama’s utter disregard for the constitution and its limits on executive power (or constitutional rights such as the freedom or Religion or Free Speech).
I am also scared to death for several practical reasons. 1st, The financial peril this country is in with the Fed. printing money and a huge tax increase about to kick in. 2nd, the fact that Obama is just about to let Iran develop a Nuclear weapon. And lastly, the fact that Scalia and Thomas aren’t getting any younger and one more Elana Kagan on the Supreme Court would be set, match, and game over.
