It’s on the Texas Car Rental forms as an option. Just check “I agree to accept a pistol.” It’s cheap $25 and includes a CCW permit.

Not bad, the best I ever did was 2 rounds of FJM .25 ACP in a Budget rental.

Stop!
Don’t touch!
Tell an adult!

(Especially in your neighborhood, lady.)

Found a lovely Colt Woodsman under the passenger seat of my used Highlander. After a year, it had not been reported stolen, so I sold it. Car was for sale because of a divorce.

Always wanted a Woodsman, but the collector market has managed to keep them out of reach. There must be something about Colts, though - an old auto salvage yard near me closed down when the owner died (it was one of the old independent yards). They had a big "anything you can carry out for $50.00" sale one weekend - and I found a Colt Python under the front seat of a Ford LTD. Still got it.

LOL! I hired a limo (not a stretch, just a Lincoln with a driver) to take me to the airport for a business trip. It was recommended by the guys I worked for. And about as cheap as the airport shuttle.

I can lift my own bag into the trunk, thankyouverymuch....

When the driver opened the trunk and I put my bag in, I noticed a bunch of extra magazines under a strap.

I looked at the driver and he patted his jacket. Nuff said.

I did ride easy to the airport.

Getting off the plane in a no-carry state was fairly nerve wracking though.

I took a cab, and as we were going along I noticed a Marlboro package on the seat... I picked it up and I was going to crush it and dispose of it but I detected something inside...a baggie of bud...I secured THAT so it didn’t fall into innocent hands... and just as we were arriving at my destination, lo and behold there was a $100 dollar bill on the floor! I was an owl on a mouse on THAT. But I felt half guilty that I was stealing from the cab driver, who normally would’ve found these things and put them into his own pocket, so I decided that I was going to give him a extra big tip...THAT IS, until when I asked him to wait, and he was a total jerk about it and flat refused. So, he got exact change, and I had a very pleasant walk after that, singing to myself the whole way...

There just seems to be magic in any gun designed by John M. Browning. The Woodsman was one of his.

As good as many others are, I always thought that Woodsman was the best .22 auto there is.

That's why every January, I post a vanity "Happy Birthday" thread.

November, I'll post one for Eugene Stoner, just like every year.

I remember getting a ride from a friend once. He slammed on the brakes and maybe six handguns tumbled forward from under the seat. He said “do me a favor, kick those back under for me!”. This was in San Francisco, where guns are not as tolerated as in normal states. I could picture him losing track of one or two when selling a car. He belonged to a motorcycle gang and those guys always carried.
