DES MOINES As eight bells rang from the clock tower of the Polk County Courthouse, the doors to the election office opened on Thursday morning and voters began casting the first ballots of the presidential race in this battleground state.
It seems like weve been waiting for this day for a long time, said Nancy Bobo, 60, who stood in line and voted for President Obama. Im just thrilled to get out here and vote as soon as I possibly could.

I’ll only get to vote once.
ASSUMING there will even BE an election.
This nonsense of early voting, absentee voting and soon Internet voting is IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL FROM A SECURITY PERSPECTIVE. These loose voting standards make the election process vulnerable to fraud. Oh, that's right.. That's what the liberals want, a system that makes it EASY TO COMMIT VOTER FRAUD!!! Out of state student voters voting in the location of their schools.. Gee, what could possibly go wrong there?
Nancy Bobo was an Iowa Democrat Delegate in 2008. How convenient of the Slimes to leave that little fact out of their unbiased reporting.

god we can only hope that after a few weeks of early voting in Iowa and Ohio that Romney has a 60/40 Lead! (thru reliable sources)
It is a crime to allow voting before the debates. I might understand a couple days of early voting at the end, maybe, but for what honest reason do we need a month?
Nice catch. How convenient that the Times finds an “average voter” so excited to vote for Obama and it turns out to be a party delegate. Also they pick the one state where democrats lead early voting, not other ones that appear to be favorable to Romney.
Take your pick....
Invent your own moniker...
Same lawlessness...
....different election year
Lord, help us!
Voting before there has been a single debate?
What early voting does is to effectively cancel out any vote made.
Think of all the changes that can and probably will occur in the next 45 days. Several high probability events that I can think of would radically change our political landscape.
So, since there are no reset buttons for votes casted every vote casted over the next 30 plus days is a waisted vote.
What people will do for their 15 seconds of national fame.
