Google wasn’t broken, but Apple decided to fix it anyway.

I’m not one to complain about billionaires fighting each other but in this case it’s appropriate.

Actually, google was broken in iOS. In that Apple’s license with google was restrictive in what they could offer, such as voice turn by turn directions, whereas android users got it built in. Also, Apple had roughly a year left on their license (when the new map app was first announced) before it had to be renewed, and renewal was not going to free up any of google’s restrictions, so Apple cut the cord.

As for errors, that’s back end data. A refresh of the OS shouldn’t be required to correct maps.
