WASHINGTON (AP) -- Citing national security risks, President Barack Obama on Friday blocked a Chinese company from owning four wind farm projects in northern Oregon near a Navy base where the U.S. military flies unmanned drones and electronic-warfare planes on training missions.
It was the first time in 22 years that a U.S. president blocked such a foreign business deal.

He really stands up to the Chinese at election time. Wind farms? Are they running out of stuff they can buy from us?
Methinks they planned to set up electronic surveillance and glean any drone etc. info they could, being near the base.
Why would the Celebrity in Chief block the sale of wind farms? They are totally worthless. All this does is prevent Americans from getting a return on their money.

You beat me to saying it.
The Chicago way? Must be a shake down for more money. zer0 has more flexibility after the election.
regardless of what I think of this act, as far as national security concerns, I do not actually, honestly believe Obama would be taking this action were the elections not just around the corner
Obama is showing the ChiComs how to be a Communist by blocking the Free Market.
Yep...he probably promised the Muslim Brotherhood that they could have them.....after the election of course. Then they can have another front row seat to American security secrets. (half kidding.....half not )
Yet he is OK with the Chinese having banks in this country.
nah, that is niot the real issue, they are not muslim. He is trying to find a way so the Saudi’s can benefit.
They didn't grease Obam's palm with a big enough wad of cash campaign contribution.
that’s funny, your comment would fit well on this thread too ... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2937636/posts?page=22#22
Great minds . . . :-)
What if China’s leaders say to themselves, If America won’t let us buy its windfarms, maybe we should stop buying its bonds.
A few days of a Chinese boycott of our Treasuries could finally answer the question: Is there any possible crisis that would be so bad it would cause Obama to cancel an appearance on Letterman?
China is experiencing a shortage of wind and they thought wind farms are where wind is grown. It’s amazing how much wind those huge fans make at times.
