President Barack Obama spoke Friday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about Iran’s nuclear program and the two reiterated their stance that Iran shouldn’t have a nuclear weapon, the White House said.
“The two leaders discussed a range of security issues, and the President reaffirmed his and our country’s unshakeable commitment to Israel’s security,” the White House said in a brief summary of the call. “The two leaders underscored that they are in full agreement on the shared goal of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.”
Their call comes amid increasing tension between the two leaders. Mr. Netanyahu has pressured Mr. Obama to take a more aggressive stance toward Iran, and in a speech before the United Nations General Assembly in New York Thursday the Israeli leader urged global powers to set a strict limit on Tehran’s nuclear fuel production as the clear “red line” that would trigger military strikes.
He also left room for a diplomatic solution –Mr. Obama’s preferred approach– by suggesting Israel wouldn’t considering attacking Iran until the spring of next year. He said by then Iran will have amassed enough medium-enriched uranium to convert into fuel for a nuclear bomb in a matter of weeks or months.
Mr. Netanyahu “welcomed” Mr. Obama’s comments Tuesday to world leaders about Iran, the White House said. Mr. Obama told the gathering of world leaders in New York that the U.S. “will do what we must” to ensure Iran doesn’t obtain a nuclear weapon.
This is their second call in the last several weeks, and may do little to silence those who have criticized Mr. Obama for not meeting with Mr. Netanyahu in person while he’s in the U.S. The White House has said they didn’t

A lot of truth in it. You look at pictures of Presidents Reagan, Ford, Carter, Clinton, The Bushes, etc. Their desk was typically covered or at least looked like it was being used. obamas is always totally empty.
Benjamin Netanyahu speaks American English naturally and eloquently, as if it were his native language. He is the legitimate leader of the free world, yet is “merely” the PM of Israel.
America is saddled with an alien Amalekite usurper who uses a teleprompter to speak hollow lying words, and knows no difference between a Navy Corpsman and a dead body. He is set on destroying the free world, yet is the “President” of the United States.
I am sorry that PM Netanyahu had to waste his valuable time listening to the rabblings of the ignorant, koran-friendly punk poser.

I would bet one of those drawers is actually a mini-fridge stocked with beer. Another a humidor-type storage for his stinking cigs. No doubt the Oval Office will have to be fumigated when he leaves.
The desk, named the "Resolute Desk", was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE in 1880.
It was built from the timbers of the British Arctic exploration ship, "Resolute". The ship has an amazing history embodying abandonment, rescueing, re-fitting and finally, heartwarming gestures of mutual friendship and affection between two great countries.
Queen Victoria had a twin desk made for herself from the Resolute's timbers. It's now part of the furnishings of Windsor Castle. Can you picture Prince Philip or any of the males in the royal family consistently putting their shoes up on Victoria's personal desk?
Obama's feet dumped on top of OUR historic desk embodies arrogance, disdain, proprietary entitlement, lack of historical awareness, zero respect for an ally and a complete lack of class all around.
What a horrible man occupies and desecrates the Oval Office.
